Last date of submission of forms and fee for 7 entrance examinations conducted by National Testing Agency have been extended. The examinations for which dates have been extended are: National Council for Hotel Management (NCHM) JEE-2020, Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) Admission Test-2020 for Ph.D. and Open Mat (MBA); Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR)-2020; Jawaharlal Nehru University Entrance Examination (JNUEE)- 2020; UGC-National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET)-June 2020; CSIR-National Eligibility Test (CSIR-NET)-June 2020; and All India AYUSH Post Graduate Entrance Test (AIAPGET)-2020. No change in compartment exam policy of CISCE, board clarifies & warns students

Clarifying the confusion floating among students regarding the Council of the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) policy on ‘Compartmental Examinations‘, the board released a notice. CISCE announced conducting compartment examinations from examination year 2019. This is was the first time CISCE board students got another chance to save their year if they failed in one subject. Earlier students could re-appear for the exams only in the subsequent year. Recently, some reports quoting that CISCE has decided that students of class X and XII board examination will now be able to appear in the compartment exam of two subjects due to Coronavirus, COVID 19. These reports went trending as students felt happy and amazed that the board will now allow them to sit in compartment examination for two subjects. No late fee till April 30, MPBSE board orders schools citing lockdown due to coronavirus

Instructing schools not to pressurize parents with the burden of paying school fee, school education department issued a notice for all the school affiliated to Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (MPBSE), Central Board Secondary Education (CBSE) or Council for Indian School Certificate Examinations (CICSE). “For all the public and private schools affiliated to MPBSE, CBSE or CISCE, parents can pay fee for the academic session 2019-20 till April 30, 2020. No school can charge late fee on submission of the fee till April 30, 2020 for the session,” the notice said.   This notice was sent to all the schools citing the lockdown in the country. CBSE employees donate Rs 21 lakh to fight coronavirus

Employees of Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) decided to contribute Rs 21,00,000 to the PM CARES Fund to aid the Government’s efforts to fight against the coronavirus. The board announced the decision from all employees who voluntarily came forward to donate their salary for supporting the government in fighting coronavirus. Anurag Tripathi, CBSE secretary, wrote in the announcement, “The country is facing Corona Virus (COVID-19) Pandemic of unprecedented magnitude posing serious threat to the health, life and economic security of millions of people in the Country.” He added that accordingly, Group- “A” Employees have donated two day salary and Group- “B” & “C” Employees, one day Salary to Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund (PM CARES Fund).

Janki Dadi passed away, leaving behind her memories & love for Indore

Janki Dadi, the chief of Brahmakumaris Sansthan, one of the world’s largest spiritual organisation run by women, passed away at the age of 104 after prolonged illness on Friday. Her followers all over the country including Brahmakumaris (BK) in Indore grieved on her demise. She breathed her last at 2 a.m. on Friday at a hospital in Mount Abu. She was suffering from respiratory and stomach-related problems for the last two months, the official statement from BK said. CBSE affiliation fresh/renewal date extended to April 30

In view of current COVID-19 situation in the country, Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) extended the date of application for schools seeking affiliation from the board from March 31 to April 30. CBSE had notified its Affiliation Bye-Laws vide notification quoting that as per appendix I, the period for applying for affiliation under various categories i.e. fresh affiliation/Upgradation/ Switch over from other Board/Extension of Affiliation for session 2021-22 for all applicant schools is up to 31.03.2020 with requisite fees. “In this connection the Board is in receipt of various representations from the schools mentioning problems faced by the school for submission of application for affiliation in stipulated time period in view of current COVID-19 situation,” Anurag Tripathi, CBSE secretary, wrote in the release. 'No one should sleep on empty stomach' NGOs in Indore launched a drive to provide food during Coronavirus Lockdown

As the entire city is locked down, some NGOs (non-government organisations) working to ensure that no one sleeps on an empty stomach, have taken the initiative to provide ration to underprivileged households. Launching the drive, the NGOs floated messages with their helpline numbers across various social media platforms on Tuesday. One of the largest initiative is taken by Member of Parliament (MP) Shankar Lalwani wherein food packets are being prepared and sent to people’s homes as per their needs. “We received about 10,000 calls, messages and requests for packages on Tuesday,” Lalwani said. There were two types of food packets prepared by his team. “One packet had rice and sabzi and other had 5 rotis and sabzi,” Lalwani shared. Eklavya School Principal application date extended to March 31

The process of recruitment to the post of principal on deputation in Eklavya Model Residential Schools has been extended. The last date for submission of applications for this has been extended from to March 31. The amount given to students studying in 46 Eklavya Model Residential Schools in 25 districts run by the Tribal Welfare Department has also been increased from Rs 31,500 to Rs 47,860. This amount is given to the students for housing, food, uniform, medical and cultural activities. Monthly scholarship is being provided to students studying in 123 specialized residential schools in the state of Rs 2500 per month.

5 teenage girls still in hostel in Jhabua despite COVID-19

In order to ensure safety of students and avoid crowding people in a place, Education Department has been sending students home from hostels. “As discussed with all DPCs, DEO/ADPCs of Indore division, only ADPC Jhabua reported 8 teenage girls staying in Girls Hostel of Model School Kalyanpura as their parents are out of station,” Manish Verma, Joint Director Education Department (Indore) said. He added that 3 out of these 8 were also picked up by their parents on Monday. “Remaining all students of all RMSA/SSA/CWSN hostels have already left for their homes. In Girls Hostel Kalyanpura, hostel Warden is staying with the rest 5 girls to ensure their safety and sanitization of the hostel,” Verma said. Operation of all public passenger buses in the state has been prohibited from Monday till March 31. The restriction has been imposed under Section 115 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, to prevent the spread of Corona Virus across the state. World Health Organization (WHO) had declared Corona Virus (COVID-19) as a global pandemic and following which, Madhya Pradesh Health Notification under Section 50 and 51 of the Madhya Pradesh Health Act 1949 notified COVID-19 as contagious disease. “The spread of COVID-19 is rapid and communicable, and in some of the districts of Madhya Pradesh, people suffering from the infection have been confirmed,” the notice said. Government scholarships to study abroad in India: 7 including 4 girls to study abroad, awarded scholarships of Rs 1.5 cr

Seven students including 4 girls from Indore district bagged government scholarship for studying abroad and will be heading to different parts of Canada and Australia to attend the upcoming academic sessions. Overall, the scholarships awarded to all the students amount to Rs 1.5 crore. The highest scholarship awarded amounts to Rs 27,49,810. All the above students are from backward class. The scholarship has been sanctioned by the Backward Classes Welfare Department. Scholarships were approved by the state government by selecting talented students for studying higher education abroad. Following an overwhelming response from people, Yoga Prana Vidya organised two special online sessions for people. The first session was organised on Saturday evening. In the special session, founder of YPV N Jayachander Reddy headed the live stream. Senior healer of YPV Vishakha Karnani shared that YPV is based on the ancient teachings of healing the energy body with the help of spiritual or yogic techniques. “YPV technique of energy healing provides therapy for mental, emotional, physical ailments and psycho-somatic issues. The technique involves healing of energy body of a person by extracting dirty prana/energy and replacing it with fresh prana,” she said. Virtual Classes continue education to prevent COVID-19

As the entire nation is shaken by the Corona Virus catastrophe, the education sector has witnessed a major setback.
