Physiotherapist Dr Priyanka Tiwari Sharma while addressing people on social media said, "We are all staying at home with free time on our hand, and most of us are spending this time in entertaining ourselves and often overeating." She explained that while at home living a sedentary life, we must try to eat a little less than our hunger.
"People will often defend this by saying that they are doing household chores as there is no house help, but you must understand that chores and exercise are two different things," Priyanka said.
She explained that chores can tire you but not help you in giving movement and strength to all your muscles.
"With so many options, a person can utilise this time to built their own customised workout involving necessary exercises for body like lunges, rotations, stretching, jumming jags, etc," Priyanka said. She explained that exercise is necessary for us to built immunity.
"Even COVID-19 is easily attacking those people who have lower immunity mainly kids and senior citizens, so let's power up and become healthier," Priyanka said.
Fit is not Weight measurement
"People often misunderstand that losing weight means becoming healthier, but that is very wrong. Being fit means being able to do all the work without any pain in the body. Your weight does not determine your fitness," Priyanka said. She urged people not to befriend pain.
