Clarifying the confusion floating among students regarding
the Council of the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) policy on
‘Compartmental Examinations‘, the board released a notice.
CISCE announced conducting compartment examinations from
examination year 2019. This is was the first time CISCE board students got
another chance to save their year if they failed in one subject. Earlier
students could re-appear for the exams only in the subsequent year.
Recently, some reports quoting that CISCE has decided that
students of class X and XII board examination will now be able to appear in the
compartment exam of two subjects due to Coronavirus, COVID 19. These reports
went trending as students felt happy and amazed that the board will now allow
them to sit in compartment examination for two subjects.
Citing these reports, the board issued a clarification
stating, “The policy of the CISCE regarding the ‘Compartment Examination' has
not changed and remains the same.”
Further, it warned students to beware of such misinformation
that can affect their future. Students must also note that as per CISCE’s
policy, “Class X examinees who pass English and three other subjects can write
the compartmental exam if they fail in fifth subject while class XII examinees
who pass English and two other subjects can write the compartmental exam if
they fail in the fourth subject.”
