IISER aptitude test on May 31, 2020, schedule released

The admissions date for the IISER aptitude test 2020 has been declared by Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Thiruvananthapuram. The candidates willing to appear for the same needs to visit the official website to keep themselves updated about the recent news and notifications. Applicants will have to appear for an IISER aptitude test on May 31 (Sunday). Those who clear the test will have to participate in the seat allotment process through which admissions will be allotted at the IISER campuses. Candidates who have passed 10+2 or equivalent level exam with science stream in 2019 or 2020 are eligible to apply for admissions. Candidates will be admitted to IISER only through Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY), JEE Advanced with rank within 10000, and state and central board channel (SCB). 54 per cent of South Asian youth leave school without the necessary skills, what's the solution? Change assessment & education system

An estimated 54 per cent of South Asian youth leave school without the necessary skills to get a decent job in the next decade, according to data produced and released on Thursday, by the Global Business Coalition for Education (GBC-Education), the Education Commission, and UNICEF. "Every day, nearly 100,000 young South Asians – a large sports stadium of young people – enter the labour market, almost half of them not on track to find 21st century jobs,” said Henrietta Fore, UNICEF Executive Director, in the report. The report further adds that south Asia is at a critical juncture, with a limited window during which it can reap significant demographic dividends from its talented and capable youth. With almost half of its population of 1.8 billion below the age of 24, led by India, Pakistan and Bangladesh, South Asia will have the largest youth labour force in the world until 2040. Fighting the ghost of plastic pollution, CBSE school students headed out on Thursday dressed as ghosts on Halloween using plastic polythene. The students carried placards made on chart papers with various slogans to the nearby areas. ‘Do something Drastic, throw away Plastic’ was one of them that stood out. The theme of the day was to connect celebration with community service. Students dressed themselves as plastic demons and gobblers in red and black colours. City Walk Festival from Oct 12 to Nov 10 in Indore, Bhopal, Ujjain, Gwalior & more

Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board will organise a ‘City Walk Festival’ for local, national and international tourists of all age groups in 11 cities from October 12 to November 10. More than 100 city walks will be organized in the festival on subjects including art, culture, ancient heritage, history, heritage, food, textile, photography and spiritualism. A local walk leader will be appointed for each walk. The tourism board has urged the tourists to take part in the festival in maximum number and get acquainted with the state’s heritage. Along with Indore, Bhopal, Ujjain and Gwalior, the walk will be organised in Panna, Vidisha, Khajuraho, Chanderi, Jabalpur, Burhanpur and Orchha.   Participating tourists will be acquainted with the rich heritage, natural beauty, glorious history, traditions and ancient heritage. Dhanteras, the first day of 5-day-long Diwali festival, witnessed brisk buying in the city, on Friday. Heavy rush was witnessed at Sarafa, Bartan Bazaar and some auto showrooms. Thousands of Catholics participated in the inaugural ceremony of three-day 8 th Bible Mahotsav, which started with prayer services at St Arnold’s School premises at Lalaram Nagar, Indore. Sikh community in the city celebrated conferment of title of “Guru” on Sri Guru Granth Sahib on Sunday, as it is celebrated every year on October 20. The execution begins as two lions and a tiger departed from Kamla Nehru Prani Sangrahalaya, Indore on Friday on their journey to Chhatbir Zoo also known as Mahendra Chaudhary Zoological Park, located 17 kilometres from Chandigarh, Punjab.
