An inter-school debate competition ‘Crossfire Connoisseur
Competition’ will be organised on Saturday at Laurels School International.
Participants from seven prestigious schools of Indore
namely, Sri Satya Sai Vidya Vihar, Shishukunj International, St. Raphael’s, The
Emerald Heights International School, Choithram School, Queen’s College, Delhi
Public School along with the host school will be debating over various topics
in the competition.
The Crossfire is a debate with a difference- a debate where
the debate topic is given by an eminent personality of the country and which is
opened only an hour before the commencement of the actual crossfire. Ever since
its inception the topics for the competition have been inspired from esteemed
dignitaries like Dr APJ Kalam, Dr Prannoy Roy, P Chidambaram to name a few.
“The concept behind having a last minute topic is to prepare
students with quick thinking ability and readiness to handle challenges,” Dr
Anshu Deshmukh, host school principal, said.
Crossfire Connoisseur Competition is an annual debating
event started in the year 2004 by Laurels School International, Indore, as a
platform for young speakers to exchange and debate on topics and issues of
social relevance.
