On the last day of three-day Bible Mahotsav, devotees enjoyed rain showers quoting it as a blessing from Jesus for the devotees who came to participate in the spiritual event from all over state.
Bible Mahotsav was organised by Catholic Indore diocese to inculcate a sense of spirituality and an interest among the Christians. In spite of rains, over six thousand people from all over MP, specially from the 9 dioceses participated, namely; Indore, Bhopal, Jhabua, Khandwa, Ujjain, Gwalior, Jabalpur, Satna and Sagar dioceses.
The third day began with the recitation of Rosary to Mother Mary. The highlights of the concluding day were reporting of various activities of the nine dioceses.
The reports presented various activities that were oragnised dioceses during last year and were shared by the nine representatives of the nine dioceses.
The preaching of Father Anil Dev began with the song, ‘Duniya he bandhan main, use azadi ki zarurat hai’ (The world is in bondage, it needs freedom). ”The Holy Spirit invokes everyone, therefore be awake and prepared” he said.
Dev also called all people quoting the words of Jesus, “I have chosen you and appointed you. Go and produce fruits” and “You are the light of the world, go and enlighten the world.” He added that we do not have to just speak to God in our prayers but also need to listen to him.
The Holy mass was offered by Dr Leo Cornelio, the Archbishop of Bhopal. In his sermon, he stressed on the importance of spreading the mission of Christ with more efforts and enthusiasm.
The Bishops of Allahabad, Sagar, Ujjain and other 50 priests together with devotees concelebrated in the Holy mass.
The Bible Mahotsav concluded with a presidential address by Reverent Chacko Thottumarickal SVD, bishop of Indore. He expressed gratitude to all the people who came from the various parts of state and experienced the impact of God’s word in their lives.
“We can together make a happier world, by making Bible reading a part of our life and part of family’s routine,” Thottumarickal said.
Fr Jobi Anand, announced the conclusion of the program, which was marked by carrying Holy Bible and the statues of Mother Mary and St Mariam Teresia.
