Maharaja Ranjit Singh statue in Indore after efforts for 22 years by Sikh community

The 22-year-old efforts to install the statue of Maharaja Ranjit Singh of Sikh community in Indore, were finally successful, as the state was inaugurated on Sunday. The Sher-e-Punjab statue unveiled after long efforts. The unveiling will the bronze (metal) statue is built like a statue in the Maharaja's palace in France. Sikh community members had been trying for the statue since 1999, during the tenure of the then Chief Minister Digvijay Singh. Earlier the statue was proposed to be installed at Bhanwarkuan square but administration had said that the place was not suitable for the road. After this it was decided to place it on the rotary opposite Udham Singh Chowk of Rajiv Gandhi circle. The idol has been built by the sculptor Prabhatray and his team in Gwalior. Til Chaturthi Festival commences at Khajrana Ganesh Temple, Indore, Lord adorned with Rs 2 crore gold jewels

Celebrations of Til Chaturthi Festival commenced at Khajrana Ganesh from Sunday with thousands of devotees standing in queue for ‘darshan’ of the lord. The festival will be celebrated till Tuesday, February 2. Lord Ganesha was adorned with gold jewellery on the fest. The cost of these jewelery is two crore rupees. There was a huge crowd of devotees at Khajrana Ganesh temple since morning to celebrate Til Chaturthi. To celebrate the fest, Mahabhog of 51,000 laddoos of sesame and jaggery was offered to lord Ganesh by Siddhi Vinayak Bhakta Mandal. Prasad was also distributed among the devotees. Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducted the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) on Sunday. This is the first time that the exam was held since the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic. CTET has been delayed by six months owing to the pandemic. The examination is going to be conducted for the first time after the validity of CTET being extended to lifelong by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). According to the CTET 2021 exam analysis, there was mixed reaction with regard to Paper 1 of CTET 2021 as some candidates found it moderately difficult while others found it easy. The CTET 2021 exam is conducted to determine the eligibility for teachers from Class I to VIII.

Indore: Parents protest & demand fee relief from St Paul HS School & St Arnold's School Vijay Nagar, schools' take & parents' issues

Private schools forcing parents to give consent for offline examination, shutting down online classes and further, to enforce fee payments denying classes to students. Raising these issues against St Paul Higher Secondary School, a group of parents reached out to local administration on Saturday seeking help. The statewide vulture census will be done by the Forest Department on February 7. Indore: Arrest organisers for bull fight, says animal activist, FIR registered

An FIR has been registered in Malharganj police station against organization of bull fight by animal activist on Monday. The event was organized by Bunty Yadav Friends Club at Dalalbag (near Ramakrishna Mission School) on Sunday. This event, on the lines of the battle in Jallikattu in Tamil Nadu, caused a huge stampede. “It is known that the Supreme Court has banned the animal fighting events,” complainant Priyanshu Jain said. She added as per reports, many people and at least three were severely injured in the battle. Two new species of snakes have been found in Madhya Pradesh, perhaps for the time ever. The two species were spotted by forest department in their annual survey. Another one snake received special mention and recognition in the analysis, as it is endemic and found only in Panchmari, Madhya Pradesh. With bird flu having spread to 32 districts, the death count is still on. So far, 4084 crows, pigeons and other birds have been reported dead in the state. In Indore, over 400 birds have died because of avian influenza N5H8, i.e. bird flu as per reports. According to information received from National High Security Animal Disease Research, samples of chickens in Garhatganj, Kharwariya Garhi block of Raisen district are being tested for bird flu. 453 samples have been sent from districts of the state till date. Sindhi community observed martyr Hemu Kalani's 78th sacrifice day and offered flowers to his statue in the city on Thursday.
