To pay respect to Saint Baba Tara Singh, three-day annual event has been organised at Khalsabagh Gurudwara from Friday. The three-day event will have ‘Gurumat Samagam’ where sikh community members will participate in large numbers.
Community spokesperson Devendra Singh Gandhi said, “Tara Singh was a champion of Sikh rights against the dominant Hindus, Muslims, and British.” He added that Singh was born a Hindu, but while a student in Rawalpindi he became attracted to Sikhism and underwent the required initiation ceremony.
In the schedule for day 1, i.e. on Friday, Rahiraas Sahib will be conducted by head granthi Bhai Sulakharan Singh. Kirtan will be conducted by Bhai Ajit Singh, Kuldeep Singh from Amritsar and Harjeet Singh.
Gyani Anoop Singh will explain and conduct Gurumat Vichar.
