Top 3,000 from Indore and 2.5 lakh aspirants who cleared JEE Main 2022 attempted Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2022 on Sunday. The examination was conducted at six centres in Indore. As per the JEE Advanced paper pattern 2022, the exam was conducted in online mode having two papers- Paper 1 and Paper 2. Both the papers were of 3 hours each. That is about 6 hours of focused application of the subjects. This year, JEE Advanced 2022 was held on Sunday for two compulsory papers between 9 am and 12 noon and from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm. Forest workers launched a mass protest against compensation and job to family in Lateri incident and handed over their guns to forest minister Vijay Shah on Tuesday. There was a fierce protest in the forest department regarding the announcement of Rs 20 lakh compensation and government job to the relatives of the accused who died in the Lateri incident. The government recently announced a compensation of Rs 25 lakhs to the family of deceased and Rs 5 lakhs each to those injured in the incident. On Tuesday, during the visit of the minister, Forest Ranger, Deputy Ranger and Forest Guard deposited their weapons and raised a stern opposition in front of the minister. In other parts of the state, forest workers also deposited their weapons to the office. For this, two major cities of the state, Indore and Bhopal have been selected as pilot projects. Under the scheme, girl students of Indore and Bhopal will be given e-Rupay vouchers to buy cycles, after which they will be able to buy cycles from the designated shop.

It is estimated that around six lakh cycles will be procured across the province, for which the tender process will start soon and the distribution of cycles will start within two months. It is worth noting that the government gives free cycles to the girl students who have passed class VIII and took admission in class IX, but since the year 2019, giving bicycles was stopped, which will start again.

The gentle giants are now troubled and it is causing troubles for the Madhya Pradesh forest department, too. Wild elephant herds trampled 12 people to death in the state in the past five years, according to an expert committee report. The committee was headed by Alok Kumar, PCCF (WL) and CWLW, as chairman. The other members included Abhilash Khandekar, member of the State Wildlife Board; elephant specialist Dr R Sukumar; and the field director of the Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve. This year, that is in 2022, five mahua gatherers were trampled to death by a herd of elephants in Shahdol, Madhya Pradesh. The reason for the rising conflict is interruption in elephant corridors and displacement of elephants from their habitats in Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh.
