Indore inks success, tops State in JEE Main 2022
Siya tops females, Atharva bags state toppers badgeIndore’s topper bags the first place in Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2020 as the state topper Atharva Verma with AIR (All India Rank) 56 is from the city. The young aspirant brings pride to the city and re-establishes its place as education hub.
Furthermore, the state’s female topper Siya Gupta is also from Indore. Her AIR is 1099.
The second place in the state was bagged by Dhruv Agarwal with AIR 75. Dhruv is from Bhopal. The third state topper is Samyak Jain from Indore with AIR 88.
Next in line is Indore’s Akarsh Gupta with AIR 102. Fifth state topper is Rudraksh Kawade with AIR 183.
The examination was conducted at 622 examination centres in 440 cities in India and abroad including Indore. This year, the examination was conducted in 13 languages (Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu).

State Topper & Indore topper Atharva Verma with AIR 56
“I was not expecting to be a state topper. My focus is very crystal clear. I want to be able to study in IIT and become a good engineer. I scored better in first attempt and since the best of two was considered, my overall ranking was good. I am now working to score well in JEE Advanced and bag a seat at IIT Delhi or IIT Bombay. I am interested in coding so I am hoping to study B Tech in Computer Science.
I am attempting mock tests every other day. It’s the best way to test and prepare myself for the exam. One of my biggest strength is my mother (homemaker Rajlakshmi Verma).
I stay here with my mom, as my father has to be in Chhattisgarh for work. My father (Ravishekhar Verma) works with a national NGO serving the country.
My mantra for JEE Main is to work with targets. I always prepare based on topic or chapters for a day. It often takes 10 to 11 hours of studies. The idea is to prepare myself thoroughly on a topic.”

State’s Female Topper: Indore’s Siya Gupta
“It was my target to achieve the position of state toppers. I used to study for 15 hours. I want to become a computer science engineer. My dad (Mukesh Kumar Gupta) is a civil engineer.
My mom (Amita Gupta) is a homemaker. I was interested in Physics. I got motivated by others who have succeeded before me. To score well, one must study NCERT at least 5 times. I had to work hard for Chemistry. NCERT helped me.
I think it’s very important to work out weak hours. We had daily two tests. We must analyse and work on them more. It’s the best way to prepare. The idea is rectification. We often miss out simple topics.”

State’s second – Bhopal’s first: Dhruv with AIR 75
“I scored 285 out of 300 marks, and am now preparing for the JEE Advanced. I want to join one of the IITs. I secured 99.996363 percentile with 100 NTA (National Testing Agency) score in Physics. I devoted 10-12 hours every day to studies, with 5-6 hours reserved for Physics, which I found to be tough.
I started my preparations when I was in class 9, though at the time my focus was on science and maths Olympiads,” he said. He shifted his focus entirely to JEE when he was in Class 11. My father (MPEB official Ravindra Kumar) and mother (homemaker Babita) are my pillars of strength. My daily routine was tailored to suit me. My success mantra is consistency.”

State’s Third – Indore’s second: Samyak with AIR 88
“We had a challenge of managing online education during preparation of JEE Main 2022. However, it wasn’t difficult because when one commits to winning, everything is possible. I am inspired by my elder brother (Arpit) and my dad (Mukesh Kumar Jain).
My brother is an engineer and my dad is an engineer at RRCAT. So, I had to follow the suit, just in my own way. I am more inclined towards electronics and computers. So, I will focus on studying and becoming a good electronics or computer science engineer in future.
I balanced my studies with games. I studied for 7 to 8 hours every day. I have always been very focused and interested in studies. I love learning about Physics and Mathematics. I scored 97.7 percent in Class 10 CBSE. So I became surer of my abilities.
My mother (Ritu) supported me. I use to love playing badminton before covid-19 outbreak. It was my stress reliever. I miss that. My mantra is: Focus.”

“I devoted 6-7 hours to studies initially. Later she increased it to 10-12 hours. I never let get de-motivated and let negativity take over. Continuing with a positive mindset helps me attain success. I secured 99.76 percentile.”
