⚠️ ALERT: Villagers report a group of four leopards (2 adults, 2 cubs) moving through agricultural fields.

Indore, Madhya Pradesh: Panic has gripped residents of Sulkhedi village near Mangaliya after multiple leopard sightings were reported in the area. Local villagers witnessed a group of four leopards—including two adults and two cubs—moving through agricultural fields and nearby forest patches during the early morning hours.

Movement of leopards in the area is being closely monitored by authorities.

Residents, including Tarun Yadav, reported that the animals were spotted near farmland on the village outskirts. This has caused immediate concern among farmers and daily commuters. The movement of livestock has been severely restricted, as villagers are now avoiding taking cattle out alone for fear of potential encounters.

Forest Department Response

The forest department was informed immediately, and officials have visited the site to assess the situation. While no attacks or injuries have been reported so far, authorities are treating the situation with high priority.

Officials suggest the movement may be linked to habitat disturbance or the animals' search for food and water as temperatures rise.

Safety Advisory for Residents

The Forest Department has advised the following precautionary measures:

  • Remain Vigilant: Stay alert during early morning and late evening hours.
  • Avoid Isolation: Do not venture into isolated areas or forest patches alone.
  • Child Safety: Ensure children are supervised at all times.
  • Livestock Protection: Keep cattle in secure enclosures; avoid grazing in peripheral farmlands for now.

The situation is currently being monitored by the forest department. Precautionary measures remain in place to prevent any untoward incidents.
