City zoo reuses discarded railings builds Aquarium in Indore

Innovating and setting an example by reusing discarded items of IMC (Indore Municipal Corporation), Kamla Nehru Prani Sangrahalaya, Indore has set up an aquarium bringing a variety of fresh water fishes to the city. The aquarium has been built with no cost to the zoo. “Fishes are one of the most important groups of vertebrates for humans, and it is not only fascinating to see their unique activities, but also an essential part of learning for students,” Dr Uttam Yadav, city zoo in-charge said. He explained that many young visitors and tourists had expressed the need for an aquarium in the zoo last year. “We wanted to have an ecosystem where fishes can be a part of the exhibit and we can conserve special species,” Yadav said. Panthrandu Vilakku Puja, 12th day of 60-day Mandal Puja

During the 60-day Mandal Puja at Ayyappa temple, Mahalaxmi Nagar, the 12th day was celebrated specially with Panthrandu Vilakku Puja on Thursday. With the JEE exams that are to be conducted next year coming closer, the hall ticket for the same will be released on December 6, 2019. Those candidates who have already registered can now check for the same on the official website. Jain community members staged a protest at Collectorate on Tuesday during Jan Sunwai demanding removal of eggs from mid-day meal in government schools that was recently reintroduced by the state government. Giving saplings to people from all walks of life, Create Stories Social Welfare Society celebrated the last Sunday of November with people in different areas around the city including Tulsi Nagar, Vijay Nagar, Scheme no 78 and Scheme no 114. About 70 saplings were adopted by youngsters and seniors as friends whom they would care for. After paying obeisance the procession of over 200 people to Nankana Sahib, Pakistan from Indore returned to the city on Sunday with blessings. Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has directed all its affiliated schools of the country to celebrate November 26, 2019 as Constitution Day. The directions have been issued at the instructions of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD). The celebration of the Constitution Day will culminate on 14th April 2020, i.e. on Dr Ambedkar Jayanti. CLAT 2020 on May 10, application form from Jan 1, 2020

The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) – 2020 will be held on May 10, 2020 (Sunday). The notification for CLAT – 2020 will be released in the last week of December 2019 and the online application form would be available from January 1, 2020. CLAT is a centralised test for admission to 21 National Law Universities in India. 43 other education institutes and two public sector institutes are also eligible to use these scores. The test is conducted by the 21 participating law schools in rotation, in the order of their establishment, starting with National Law School of India University which conducted CLAT-2008, And now up to National Law University Odisha which conducted CLAT-2019. The test is taken after the Higher Secondary Examination or the 12th grade for admission to integrated under graduation programmes in Law and after Graduation in Law for Master of Laws (LLM) programmes conducted by these law universities.

JEE Mains in regional language likely from 2021

There is a possibility that Joint entrance examination (JEE) Mains can be taken in multiple regional languages from 2021, if everything goes as planned by the Human Resource Development Ministry. The issue of allowing candidates to take the exam in regional languages gained traction after West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday raised objections why JEE Main will be conducted in Gujarati and “not in other regional languages”. HRD Secretary R Subrahmanyan stated that the ministry will be giving preference to the regional languages of the states with the most number of applicants in the last five years. He stated that since there can be technical limitations in conducting the examination in multiple languages these problems need to be addressed first. CTET Admit Card 2019 released by the CBSE: two servers to download the card

Central Teacher Eligibility Test CTET Admit Card 2019 released by the CBSE on its official website on Thursday. Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has launched two different servers to download the CTET admit card 2019, one on its official website and another on CTET’s website. The 13th edition of CTET Exam will be conducted on 8th December 2019. Long-form or numerical type questions in JEE Main 2020

NTA (National Testing Agency) has released the mock question paper sharing the long-form or numerical type questions. This will be the first time when these questions will be introduced in the JEE (Joint Entrance Test) main 2020 conducted to access candidates for admission to engineering colleges across India. This is also a pre-requisite exam to appear for the JEE-advanced entrance exam for the IIT (Indian Institute of Technology). From 2020 onwards, the NTA will ask five long-form numerical type questions in the JEE exam. Each question will be for 4 marks each, however, unlike the objective type questions, the numerical questions will not have any negative making. Experts remarked that these questions are likely to bring down the accuracy and hence the cut-off of the JEE exam. As many as 200 dogs of about 50 breeds put a brilliant show, as they scorched the ramp at the Kennel Club of India’s dog show here on Sunday. Labradors, Golden Retrievers, Afghan Hounds, Beagles, Akita and German Shepherds were among the 50 breeds of dogs that had been led to the dog show by their owners from various parts of the country. For most of the breeders present, dog rearing was a passion. Gaurav Kumar of Amblala was among one of the participants, who owns 40 Saint Bernards. He said that he fetches shampoo for his dogs from foreign countries and organise grooming every week for each of them.  Mandeep Bhatia, a city based pet lover, said she was against buying or selling of dogs. “I only keep them as pets and I take their care as my family members,” she said. The grand procession of Nagar Kirtan of 550th Guru Nanak Prakash Parv was taken out in the city on Sunday. The procession was postponed earlier as per request of collector. Thousands of Sikh and Sindhi community members joined the procession starting from Imli Sahib Gurudwara in the morning. Mandala Puja similar to Shabirmala starts in Indore on Sunday

Taking a step towards their spiritual growth, followers of lord Ayyappan worshipped as Dharmashasta in Sabarimala temple participated in a similar Mandala Puja at Ayyappa temple, Mahalaxmi nagar in Indore. The 60-day-long puja begins in almost all Ayyappa temple simultaneously as Sabarimala. Protest staged over temple issue at IIT Indore, institutes says case closed

Activists of Bajrang Dal on Saturday staged a protest in front of IIT Indore claiming that a Lord Hanuman temple on the campus of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Indore has been removed without any genuine reason. They claimed that an old Hanuman temple was located under a peepal tree on IIT Indore campus. That temple has now been removed. The activists claimed that people used to go to the temple for worship when IIT Indore campus had not come up. “The temple should be re-established and FIR should be registered who got the shrine removed,” Bajrang Dal city general secretary Devendra Anjana demanded. They also claimed that they had previously filed complaints with district administration and CSP as well but no action has been taken against into the matter. Authorities from IIT Indore said, “The matter has already been investigated sometime ago and the district administration, police has already been informed. From the institute side, the matter is closed.”
