The Madhya Pradesh Board Class 12 examinations began smoothly in Indore on Monday, with the district recording a 98.15% attendance on the first day, education officials said.

Flying Squads Ensure Smooth Conduct of MP Board Exams

The first examination, an English paper, was conducted from 9 am to 12 noon marking the start of the Class 12 board exams. According to District Education Officer Sushma Vaishya, approximately 89,000 students were registered to appear at 138 examination centres across Indore district.

Vaishya confirmed that eight flying squads were deployed across the city to ensure strict vigilance and prevent the use of unfair means. “The flying squads conducted surprise inspections at 30 examination centres throughout the day. No cases of cheating or serious irregularities were reported,” she stated.

Security Measures for Malpractice-Free Exams

The MP Board implemented multi-layered security measures to ensure transparent and malpractice-free examinations. Every centre was monitored via CCTV cameras, and mobile signal jammers were installed at sensitive centres to prevent cheating through electronic devices.

The movement and distribution of question papers were closely monitored, with papers being opened only inside examination halls in the presence of authorised officials. To ensure law and order, police and administrative staff were deployed at key examination centres.

Preventive Initiatives to Curb Malpractice

In an effort to reduce inadvertent violations, the MP Board introduced ‘honesty boxes’ at the entrance of examination centres. This allowed students to voluntarily deposit mobile phones, notes, or any other prohibited items before entering the exam halls, without facing penalties.

Education department officials reported that the conduct of the exams remained peaceful, with students arriving on time and following prescribed guidelines. Adequate arrangements for drinking water, seating, and other basic amenities were ensured at all centres.

Upcoming Class 10 Exams

As the Class 12 exams continue, the Class 10 MP Board examinations are scheduled to begin on February 13, 2026, while the Class 12 exams will continue till early March.

Authorities have urged students to remain calm, follow the examination rules strictly, and focus on completing their exams with integrity.
