In Their Own Words: City Toppers Share Journeys and Advice
Niyati Khandare: Science Stream & Overall City Topper (95.5%)
Niyati Khandare has emerged as the city’s overall topper and the highest scorer in the Science stream (PCB). Calm and composed, she admitted, “I didn’t expect to be the city topper.” With her sights set on a career in research and development, Niyati is preparing for competitive exams like NEET and CUET, with a particular interest in microbiology.
When asked about her academic strategy, she offered a clear message: “Stick to ISC books. NCERT isn’t enough when you’re preparing for board exams. The ISC content is detailed and critical for scoring well.”
Niyati credits her parents—Sanjay Khandare, a businessman, and Rinku Khandare, a homemaker—for their unwavering support throughout her journey.
Hoonar Wadhwani: Commerce Stream Topper (92.5%)
For Hoonar Wadhwani, topping the Commerce stream was a fulfilling milestone. “I’m happy with my score, and I want to go for an MBA in the future,” she shared. While entrance exams are on the horizon, her goal is clear: to step into the corporate world and grow within it.
She emphasizes the value of consistency and motivation in achieving success. “Be consistent to score well. It takes a lot of effort and support from parents. Stay attentive and motivated throughout the year.”
Her parents, Jagdish Wadhwani and Hema Wadhwani, have been instrumental in nurturing her academic focus and ambition.
Sanskriti Tomar: Humanities Stream Topper (92.5%)
Topping the Humanities stream, Sanskriti Tomar finds joy in academic simplicity. “It’s a pleasant feeling,” she said. A passionate student of social science, she has always been intrigued by how societies interact and evolve.
Her aspirations are rooted in public service. Sanskriti plans to pursue a BA in History through CUET, followed by an attempt at the UPSC Civil Services Examination.
Her study philosophy stands apart. “Whenever I study, I don’t stress or set a specific goal. I don’t keep a target percentage or a checklist of topics. I study what interests me, and that brings natural dedication.”
She is the daughter of Lakhan Singh Tomar, who is in the agriculture business and associated with RSS, and Raghu Kunwar Tomar, a homemaker.
