Indore comes in first even in education, as two students from the city topped the state merit list! Surprisingly, perhaps for the first time or in a very long time, a boy has excelled in the state merit’s list.
Mrudul Pal, born in a humble family, aced the state by scoring 494 marks out of 500, i.e. 98.8 per cent.
Neck to neck competition, Mrudul had competition from a girl from the same school, same district and similar marks.
Prachi Gadwal from Indore scored 493 marks out of 500 and was granted second rank with 98.6 per cent.
State & Indore Topper Mrudul Pal with 98.8%
Mrudul was in Lucknow, as the result was declared. His parents gleamed with pride and emotion, as they heard the news.
“We called him up and saw our son on the video call to share the great news,” Harishankar Pal, his father, a maintenance personnel, said. His mother was teary eyed when she was her son as the state topper.
Mrudul wants to make his mark in the world by doing some innovations and supporting his family. “My parents have supported me and helped me become the state topper, but hopefully, this is just a start as I want to achieve many more dreams,” Mrudul said.
State’s Second & First Girls Topper Prachi Gadwal 98.6%
Keeping up the baton for girls, Prachi Gadwal topped the state in second place. “I wanted to learn well and be prepared for future classes, so I focused on consistency in studies,” she said.
She dedicated 3 hours every day other than school and tuition classes to achieve good marks. “I believe focus and dedication help us achieve all our goals,” Prachi said.
Girls outshone boys in Passing %
About 1.2 lakh students from Indore had registered for Class 10 board examination, out of which, 1.18 lakh students appeared. Though Mrudul made a mark for boys among state toppers, girls continued to outshine boys in passing percentage. Girls passing percentage was 69.10 as opposed to boys, whose passing percentage was 60.85. The passing percentage has a gap of about 9 per cent, i.e. about six thousand boys failed in the city more than girls.
