Marvellous Woman in The Marvel Cinematic Universe. by Jasveen Poornia

Women Who Challenge Stereotypes
Marvellous Woman in The Marvel Cinematic Universe.
There is no doubt, that without women this world would not flourish. It is no surprise that women ace every field they enter in. Unfortunately everywhere a girl goes, she is followed by en number of stereotypes. These stereotypes keep growing according to ones situations. But after all, women have faced struggles and know how to deal with these situations like a queen for generations. One field particularly where women might not be given the best of roles is the entertainment field. There is no argument that women are given amazing roles throughout these years but it is for some reason thought that, men are the perfect superhero characters. This stereotype was beautifully broken by Lauren Riddolf. Lauren a forty-three year old woman has not just killed it with her super hero ‘Eternal’ role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a woman (One of the most successful Movie Franchise in Hollywood, creator of Avengers), but she has achieved two more amazing things. Lauren is a black woman, but still she took this opportunity and showed us how talented they are. And something that has blown minds across the globe is that, (drum roll please) she is profoundly deaf. Yes, you read that right. People think that any person in general can’t do much when he or she is disabled but this was not the case with Lauren. She like many other wonderful women in this world has changed and inspired many minds. Lauren has broken all stereotypes perfectly as woman despite the fact that she constantly got reminders from people that she wouldn’t be able to survive in an industry like this. Lauren and Makkari (her character name in the film) have shut stereotypical mouths all over the world and proved that women can do everything and anything when given the opportunity.I would like to end it with a self composed poem:
A women White or Black,
Lack nothing at all,
They get up even though they fall.
We might look weak
But we are the strongest
Be deaf or old
We are absolute gold.
