A legacy of kindness…Like Father, Like Son
We often associate kindness and warmth with only mothers, but sometimes, when we are able to experience a kind father, it can transform lives. This is how the generation of dedicated doctors began in the family of (late) Dr Ram Lal Verma who became the first doctor in the family.
Dearth of medical practitioners meant an easy way to mend money, but Verma chose to provide free services and live a minimalistic life. Looking at the satisfaction on his father’s face, his son Suresh also chose to become a paediatrician.
Further, in the third generation, following Dr Suresh, endocrinologist Dr Abhyudaya Verma could not think of a better way to serve the community. And now, the fourth generation of providing medical services as social service, his son Atharva Verma is on the track to cracking NEET.
The family has helped lakh of underprivileged families starting from the time Mill workers needed help to today, when they run a charity hospital in the city providing all possible services.

“A daughter can warm a father’s heart in a way that no words are enough to describe it and I felt that for the first time, when I had my daughter Jainisha Jain two years back,” Dr Aviral Jain, surgical consultant, said.
While that was a blessing, soon coronavirus outbreak changed everything. “I was on duty as a corona warrior and never have I felt so puzzled or pained, as I did while being away from my daughter,” Jain said. However, her smile even on a video call would brighten my day and give me hope of a better future.
“It’s amazing but a daughter is truly like a charm and magical blessing with the ability of turning things around,” Jain said.
His name will live on… forever
Often people wish to have sons so that they carry their name ahead, but that’s never been the case with mechanical engineer Vincent John. John was happy to become a father of two lovely daughters and never felt more grateful.
Even though he was the last male in his family to keep his name, John didn’t feel it was a big deal. However, life had a surprise in store for him, as his daughter Shruti Vincent followed her passion,
Becoming a father & finding life…
A unique way of becoming a father is shared by Yash Parashar, a social worker, who adopts elderly and provides them a home. “When people reach a certain age, then they start growing backwards, meaning they become younger and more child-like,” he said.
However, most families are unable to understand and accept this, resulting in elderly abuse. “I bring such people home and happily become their father,” Parashar said. His life has transformed as he says that nothing can make a man happier than becoming a father.
