In times when the entire city is under a complete lockdown and many people especially seniors are struggling to secure the basics, some organisations are helping people with donation drives.
One such organisation Namo Namo Shankara led by MP Shankar Lalwani is providing cooked meals and ration packs to underprivileged families and seniors.
Due to corona pandemic, many families are fighting coronavirus and have not recovered losses and are still facing financial crisis. Citing this, Lalwani took the initiative of helping out families and senior citizens.
Coordinator Pankaj Fatehchandani said, “We have been distributing cooked meals to senior citizens as even cooking for them is a difficult task.” He added that more than 5,000 vada pav are distributed along with ration packs to help various families.
“We are working to provide oxygen machines, oxygen cylinder refilling, hospital beds, ration materials, food packets, and sanitization sprinkler system for families that have tested positive for coronavirus,” Fatehchanandi said.
