Three-day Prabhat Pheri will be taken out in the city celebrating Ravidas Jayanti starting with the first one that was taken out on Thursday.
Guru Ravidas Jayanti will be celebrated on Saturday, February 27, 2021. This will be the 644th Birth Anniversary of saint Guru Ravidas.
To ensure equality and follow principles of devotion, the celebratory programs organised have a new rule.
“Ignoring all barriers of caste, religion and class, everyone will participate and worship Bharat Mata before Guru Ravidas,” organisers Tarun Mishra and Harish Vijayvargiya said.
Talking about the Prabhat Pheris, Mishra said, “There is a convention of Prabhat Pheri, or Morning Walkabout is believed to invoke the good spirits, and would chase the evil spirits of the night, further welcoming the morning with good vibrations.”
People assembled at the Rustam Ka Bagicha at sunrise and after that took stroll around the area as a gathering, singing bhajans and playing mridangam and Dholak.
