Maharashtra: Pak returned Indian girl Geeta explores Parbhani, Gangakhed, Poorna & Nanded to find her long lost parents

In the second phase of hunt for her parents, Pakistan returned Geeta will now travel and explore Gangakhed, Maharastra on Tuesday. Social worker Gyanendra Purohit and police constable Sadhna Baghel are hoping to nudge Geeta’s memory as the place is close to her descriptions.

By now many families (over 24 families) have claimed Geeta as their lost daughter, but Geeta's parents could not be found. From her earlier trip last month to Telangana and Maharashtra, three families had claimed her.

She met a family three days back, but did not identify them.

Some other families here have described Geeta as their daughter. Hence, Purohit is helping her travel to the villages of the families, who claim Geeta to be their long lost daughter.

In search of parents, Geeta had left in Jabalpur Overnight Express on Sunday to Maharastra and Telangana tour.

Purohit said, “In our earlier trip, based on descriptions, most people of Telangana have suggested that the place described is Gangakhed, Nanded, Poorna or Parbhani.”

In her exploration trip to see the railway station on Monday, Geeta failed to recognise anything. It’s also possible that several things have changed over the decades when she was away.

“We are hoping that she relates to Gangakhed, as it has sugarcane farms, railway station, temple, etc. as she describes,” Purohit said. He added that she often talks about river and railway station near her home.

“She might even recall her home, if it has not changed too much,” Purohit said. The search party has also sought help from local 0administration to find parents of Geeta in the area.
