Sindhi Community in Indore steps up to support society in fighting coronavirus with medical equipments
The struggle with coronavirus outbreak has amplified for everyone be it a small business owner or a daily labour. In their initiative to help the entire society, several organizations of Sindhi community have come together and are working on providing medical equipment and necessary facilities for all.
Some facilities have maintenance charges to ensure fair use of the equipment, while many others are free. Recently, the society members contributed oxygen machines, ambulances for corona patients, thermal scanners, masks, oxymetres, mortuary freezer boxes, etc.
Naresh Fudwani, secretary of Larkana Panchayat, said, “The society has 28 oxygen machines but not a single one is empty. This clearly shows how the number of Corona patients is high and increasing.”
He added that along with the oxygen machine, the society gives a sanitizer, packet of masks and explains the process of using the machine to each member.
“Patients need these devices for long periods of time even after hospital discharge. Buying them or being hospitalized for these devices is not easy for the economically weaker section,” Fudwani said.
To help with transport of corona patients, ambulances are run by the society in various areas. MP Shankar Lalwani donated an ambulance via society to Shri Guru Ji Seva Trust to ply in Vijay Nagar and area near Bombay Hospital.
