Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Indore is ready for a new director and calling for the post, Government of India, Ministry of Education, Department of Higher Education, Technical Department – 1 advertised for the vacant post on Saturday.
IIT Indore was established in 2009, with its first director as Pradeep Mathur. His first term ended in 2014. Mathur got an extension of another five years and completed another term in December 2019.
Following this, Neelesh Kumar Jain was appointed as officiating director thereafter.
Appointment was necessitated after Mathur’s second term, but Jain was made officiating sending a signal that appointment of full-fledged director is still afar. Almost a year later, the appointment of a new director is in process now.
