Guru Nanak Jayanti 2020: Langar to be distributed in packets to avoid corona spread

A two-day kirtan starting from Saturday has been organised at Guru Tegh Bahadur Stadium in Rajmohalla on the Prakash Parv of Guru Nanak Dev Maharaj.

This time due to corona infection, the ‘nagar kirtan’ procession will not be taken out in the city. Along with this, instead of usual ‘langar’ served in Gurudwara, packets will be sent out to devotees.

Sikh community volunteers will delivery langar from early morning reaching out all the members of the community.

Sangat has been appealed to take special care of their hygiene, ensure physical distance and wear masks.

Manjit Singh Bhatia, President of Shri Gurusingha Sabha and Secretary Jasbir Singh Gandhi shared, “A two-day Diwan has been organized in view of Corona, so that too many people do not gather in the premises.”

In order to protect against corona, changes have been made in the schedule of celebrations of Prakash Parv.

On November 29, group recitation of ‘Nitnem Sahib’ will be organised from 8 am to 9 am. Bhai Tawneet Singh (Chandigarh) will recite the ‘Sabad kirtan’ from 9.15 am to 10.30 am.

Bhai Gurmeet Singh will address the gathering from 10.30 am to 11.45 am.

After this, narrator Gurdeep Singh will address from 11.45 am to 1 pm.

In the evening, the recitation of Rehras Sahib will be from 5.45 pm to 6:15 pm. Bhai Jujhar Singh's will conduct Shabad kirtan from 6.15 pm to 7 on. Bhai Gurdeep Singh and Bhai Gurmeet Singh will conduct concluding kirtan from 7:45 pm to 8:30 pm.
