Great college, degree and excellent marks will not determine your success, it is the skills you earn that will show the way of your life and success. Stating this, additional director general of police Rajesh Gupta gave an example of Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, who did not get into IIT (Indian Institute of Technology) but became a senior for his friends, who studied at IIT.
“The point is not where you learn, it is what you learn,” Gupta said. He discussed two ways of studying as one to earn marks and top in class; another to find your life's direction and bring changes to world.
“The second type of studying will earn you skill sets, that will shift the direction of your life,” Gupta said. He urged students to dream big, then find clarity, conviction and courage to achieve those dreams.
“Look where you want to go, else you will end up somewhere else of nowhere,” Gupta said.
He was addressing the new batch of engineers at Shri Govindram Seksaria Institute of Technology and Science (SGSITS) in an induction webinar on Tuesday. Students missed the normal college life and offline hangouts, as induction was organised online.
