Set a fee for online classes, inflated tuition fee is not justified, demand parents to BJP chief Gaurav Ranadive
‘We are willing to pay, but the right amount has to be worked upon for online classes, inflated tuition fee is not justified!’ Parents told BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) chief Gaurav Ranadive seeking help from him on Saturday late evening.
The group of parents heading Jago Palak Jago campaign reached BJP office in Jaora compound on Saturday. Heading the campaign legal activist Chanchal Gupta shared issues faced by parents:
Following were the highlights of the discussion from the 13 points raised against the schools by the parent association:
Schools continue to deny Online Classes
Despite government’s instructions, many schools are denying online classes to some students. A separate group of students whose fee was paid is being created by the school. Classes in the previous group are shut down. In some cases, schools are holding back results of students forcing parents to pay fee.
Inflated Tuition Fee
Many school charges entire fee under the head of tuition fee, hence, denying any relief to parents. Some schools have even inflated their original tuition fee charges covering other expenses. As per latest instructions from High Court (HC) and government, schools cannot charge any non-incurred charges and must only charge tuition fee.
Decide a fair fee for Online Classes
Parents are willing to pay fee for online classes. However, the fee charged for offline classes, i.e. tuition fee, annual fee, etc. are not justified. The fee charged for online classes must be decided by government in order to ensure fair fee for parents as well as schools.
After hearing parents’ plea, Ranadive assured them of support and said, “We will discuss the matter with government.”
Further, parents will be protesting against the government for not-supporting their plea till date, at Regal Square on Sunday morning.
