‘The fitness talk’, a seminar and fitness
event was organized by World of Fitness with residents of Sapna Sangeeta on
Tuesday.
Addressing the gathering, Fit India
Ambassador Aarti Maheshwari said, “We often feel that being fit means staying
slim and looking average, but even people who look physically fit are often
unhealthy.” She explained that fitness is not determined by weight.
“Fitness can be seen from the person’s
ability to fight diseases, conduct day-to-day tasks with energy and calm
nature,” Aarti said. She explained that a reason many people are cranky and
irritated is also their unhealthy habits.
“Always being active means doing small
things yourself like making your own bed ready, keeping your own cup, etc. and
doing regular exercise means adding a challenge,” Aarti said.
She added that to keep our body active and
healthy, we must engage in any physical fitness activity for 30 minutes in a
day or overall 150 minutes activity in a week.
“We often reduce calories in our by having
lesser chapatti, vegetable, fruit, salad and yogurt, instead having small
amount of fried snacks and namkeens in a meal. Even if we don’t gain weight by
balancing calories, our body is deprived of necessary nutrition,” Aarti said.
She urged people to consider their calorie
source as well while maintaining their weight.
