Expect heavy to very heavy rainfall by Aug 26, Meteorological Department forecasts after 20.2 mm rains lashed the city on Saturday. The total rainfall received in the city till date is 28.42 inches, which is short of 4 to 6 inches from the overall requirement of the city.
Rains brought the temperature down, which brought relief to residents, who were bothered by rising temperatures in the last couple of days.
While the minimum temperature recorded in the morning was 23.0 degree Celsius, which was 1 degree higher than usual, the maximum temperature recorded in evening was 26.7 degree Celsius, i.e. 2 degree lower than usual.
Temperatures had crossed 30 degree Celsius mark prior to rains. The rainfall recorded on Saturday was 20.2 mm.
The weatherman has also warned of heavy rain in eastern part of the state and said that Indore region would see moderate to heavy rain accompanied with thunder for next couple of days.
“Low pressure over northeast MP and adjoining south UP with associated cyclonic circulation extending is up to 3.1-km above mean sea level tilting south-westwards. Under its influence, fairly widespread to widespread rainfall with isolated heavier rainfall is likely to hit Indore and other cities of MP in the next 48 hours,” met officials said.
