Shravan Somvar - Shobha Yatra

The pious month of Shravan or Sawan has begun. During this time, Lord Shiva and Mata Parvati are revered will full gusto and fervour. Devotees throng Shiva temples in huge numbers and seek the Lord's blessings.
One such Shobha Yatra was taken out from Ranjeet Hanuman temple during the weekend. Further, Shiv Maha Purana was read out by priests Pawan Tiwari and Deepesh Vyas.
In this month, each Monday is celebrated as Shravan Somvar across all temples with the Dharanatra hanging over the Shiva linga, bathing it with holy water and milk, throughout the day into the night.
Today is the first Shravan Somvar, which would be celebrated no less than a fest in the city. Observing ‘Shravan Somvar Vrat’, women and men will fast for the day by limiting their diet to fruits and one meal.
Gopaldas Rathi, the campaign head of the story, shared that Lord Shiva's Rudra Abhishek was performed at Shiva Temple located at Ranjit Hanuman temple in morning.
