While snacks like popular ‘bhajiya’ is definitely the most
loved food during rains, it is not enough to fill up stomach. Discussing
various pickles that can help food lovers survive the monsoon, a group of food
bloggers met in the city in Vijay Nagar area to discuss various ways to eat
healthy and delicious during monsoons on Thursday.
“Since it becomes difficult to get fresh veggies, we can
have pickled vegetables and even try other asian food like kimchi to ensure
that food is safe, healthy and delicious,” chef Amit Pamnani said.
“Spicy green chilli pickles, mango pickles tossed with
fenugreek and cardamom, bright yellow cauliflower pickles – you name it! There
are various ways in which, we can ensure delicious diet for monsoon,” food
blogger Astha Mahajan said. Carrot pickle was also cited as an alternative
veggie pickle.
Richa Sharma, a food enthusiast, talked about Adark (ginger)
and amla (Indian gooseberry) pickles, which help in keeping a healthy
digestion. “Digestion is a common issue faced during the monsoon season,” she
said.
