Show-cause notice issued to DEO Indore

Madhya Pradesh State Information Commission (MPSIC) issued show-cause notice was issued to former district education officer (DEO) Indore Anurag Jaiswal asking why the requested information was not provided to the RTI activist following the instruction of Right to Information Act 2005.
Activist Sanjay Mishra seek information related to the establishment of Model School Indore from then DEO. He had sought information about the case in seven points in September 2016.
“The officer had refused to share any information and noted that all the required information is available on the portal of education department, but it was not,” Mishra said. Dissatisfied by the reply on first appeal, he filed second appeal in state office at Bhopal.
“Appeal decision was passed and even after three notices, Jaiswal did not provide the requested information,” Mishra said.
Still seeking information, Mishra approached MPSIC. The commission heard the case and issued a show-cause notice citing violation of Section 10 in The Right to Information Act, 2005, as per Section 19(8) in The Right to Information Act, 2005, the show-cause notice has been issued.
Current DEO Indore Rajendra Kumar Makwani has to submit his report on July 4, 2019. If still the show-cause notice is not answered, maximum penalty of Rs 25k can be charged.
