New Academic Session Begins in Indore: A Festive Start to Learning

New beginnings: Students welcomed with traditional tilak and flowers as the 2026-27 academic session kicks off in Indore.

The new academic session commenced across Indore district on Wednesday with a warm and enthusiastic welcome for students.

Newly admitted and existing students were greeted with traditional tilak ceremonies and flower showers, creating a festive atmosphere on campus. On the occasion, students were also provided with textbooks and essential educational materials, including school bags, tiffins, and water bottles, ensuring they are fully equipped for the journey ahead.

“School Chale Hum” Campaign

The main district-level event was organized at Sandipani Naveen Malwa Girls Higher Secondary School in Mhow Naka. The program was graced by Water Resources Minister Tulsiram Silawat, with a virtual address by Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav from Bhopal.

Chief Minister Yadav highlighted the state’s commitment to strengthening the education sector through the admission festival. Addressing the gathering, Minister Silawat emphasized that education is the foundation of positive societal change, encouraging students to attend school regularly to secure a bright future. He noted that recent reforms under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi have brought significant transformation to Indian classrooms.

A Four-Day Push for Enrollment

District Education Officer Dr. Shanta Bhargava Swami informed that the “School Chale Hum” campaign will be conducted from April 1 to April 4. The goal is to maximize student enrollment across the district, ensuring every child in Indore has access to quality schooling.

Notable officials present at the event included Collector Shivam Verma, CEO Siddharth Jain, and various public representatives, all unified in their message: the future of Indore starts in the classroom.
