Ingredients:
- 2 cups rice flour
- 1/2 cup jaggery
- 1/2 cup grated coconut
- 1/4 cup poppy seeds
- 1/4 cup chopped cashews
- 1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder
- Water as needed
Method:
1. Prepare the filling by mixing jaggery, coconut, poppy seeds, cashews, and cardamom powder.
2. Knead the rice flour with water to form a dough.
3. Shape the dough into small balls and flatten them.
4. Place a spoonful of the filling in the centre and shape into modak form.
5. Steam the modaks for 15-20 minutes.
6. Serve hot or cold, garnished with grated coconut.
These modaks are a favourite of Lord Ganesha and are an essential part of the Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations.
