TINA KHATRI
As the air fills with the scent of new beginnings, and hearts prepare to welcome joy, Ganeshotsav arrives on August 26 — a festival of love, light, and creativity.
This year, bring home your very own Healthy, Happy Ganesha, shaped gently from turmeric and flour, made with your own hands and painted with care. Watch as your creation comes alive with warmth and devotion.
Celebrate Ganpati’s arrival by filling a sweet poem with your own words—expressing the love and happiness the festival brings.
And don’t forget to taste the magic of easy, no-cook Coconut Modaks, soft and fragrant, a perfect treat to share with family and friends.
Healthy, Happy Ganesha
Ingredients:
1 cup turmeric powder
1 cup maida (all-purpose flour) or wheat flour
Water (as needed)
How to make:
Mix turmeric and flour in a bowl. Add water slowly and knead into soft dough.
Make a thick round base. Roll a big ball for the stomach and put it on the base. Use a toothpick for support if needed.
Roll two small logs for legs. Shape them like a question mark or crossed legs and attach to the base and stomach.
Roll a smaller ball for the upper body and place it on the stomach. Roll two small logs for arms and attach them.
Roll a medium ball for the head and put it on top. Make two flat pieces for ears and stick on the head’s sides. Roll a log for the trunk, bend it, and attach to the face.
Paint a tilak and eyes to finish your Ganesha.
