Baked Apples and Pears
Ingredients:
• 2 medium apples
• 2 ripe (but firm) pears
• 1 tsp ground cinnamon
• ½ tsp ground ginger (optional)
• Juice of ½ a lemon
• 2 tbsp melted ghee or coconut oil
• ½ cup pomegranate seeds
Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. Core and slice the apples and pears into thin, even pieces (about ½-inch thick).
3. Place the fruit in a mixing bowl or directly into a baking dish.
4. Add cinnamon, ginger (if using), and lemon juice. Pour in the melted ghee or coconut oil. Mix until fruit is evenly coated.
5. If mixed in a bowl, transfer to a baking dish.
6. Bake for 30–35 minutes, until the fruit is soft and lightly golden.
7. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with fresh pomegranate seeds.
8. Serve warm as a light vrat dessert or snack.
