As we approach two fun and interesting celebrations this March, we have some exciting activities for you to try! March 16 is World Panda Day, a day to celebrate these adorable creatures, and March 14 is World Sleep Day, dedicated to the importance of rest and relaxation. Let’s dive into these special days with a fun mix of creativity, science, and food!
In this edition, we have a delightful DIY Panda Craft that will let you create your very own cute panda using simple materials you probably have at home. Plus, we’ll explore how different foods can either make you feel sleepy or active with a fun experiment! And lastly, we’ve included a quick and easy recipe for a Microwave Veggie Quesadilla, perfect for a snack that’s both delicious and energizing.
Get ready to have fun, learn new things, and celebrate these special days with us!

Make Your Cute Panda
Materials:
• Empty eggshell
• White and black paint
• Paintbrush
• Glue (craft or hot glue)
• Small black beads or black paper for eyes
• Cotton balls or black felt for ears
• Black marker (optional)

Steps:

Prepare the Eggshell: Carefully crack the egg and rinse the shell. Let it dry.

Paint the Eggshell White: Paint the outer side of the eggshell white and let it dry.

Make the Ears: Use cotton balls or cut small black felt circles. Attach them to the top of the eggshell.

Paint the Eyes: Paint two black circles near the top for the eyes. Let them dry.

Create the Nose: Glue a small black bead or paint a small black oval below the eyes.

Draw the Mouth: Use a black marker to draw a small curved line under the nose.

Attach to Base (Optional): Glue the bottom of the eggshell to a piece of cardboard for stability.

Let It Dry: Allow everything to dry completely. Enjoy your cute Panda!


Food That Makes You Sleepy or Active – Fun Experiment for You!
Concept: Discover how different foods can make you feel sleepy or give you energy!

Materials:
• Sleepy Foods:
o Banana
o Warm milk
o Almonds
o Oatmeal
o Turkey

• Active Foods:
o Apple
o Orange
o Yogurt
o Spinach
o Whole-grain bread

• A plate or bowl
• Timer (optional)
• Notebook and pen

Steps:

Set Up Your Food Station: Look at all the yummy foods in front of you. Split them into two groups: Sleepy Foods and Active Foods.

Try a Sleepy Food: Pick one of the sleepy foods, like a warm glass of milk or a banana. Take a bite or sip, then sit quietly for about 15 minutes. How do you feel? Write down your thoughts in your notebook.

Try an Active Food: Now, grab a food from the Active Foods list, like an apple or some yogurt. Eat it and wait for another 15 minutes. How are you feeling now?

Compare Your Results: Look at your notes. Which foods made you feel sleepy? Which foods made you feel full of energy?


Microwave Veggie Quesadilla

Ingredients:
• 1 flour tortilla
• 1/4 cup shredded cheese
• 2 tablespoons chopped bell pepper
• 2 tablespoons corn kernels (fresh or frozen)
• 1 tablespoon salsa

Instructions:

Place the tortilla on a microwave-safe plate.

Sprinkle cheese, chopped bell pepper, and corn on one half of the tortilla.

Fold the tortilla in half and microwave for 1-2 minutes until the cheese melts.

Cut into wedges and serve with salsa. Enjoy your cheesy veggie quesadilla!
