We kick off with a delicious treat – Rajasthani Churma Ladoo! This mouthwatering snack is a traditional favourite, perfect for satisfying your sweet tooth while learning a bit about Rajasthani cuisine.
Next, unleash your creativity with Lippan Art, a traditional Rajasthani craft that uses clay and mirror work. It’s easy to make and a great way to introduce yourself to the beautiful art of Rajasthan. You can create stunning designs and add a personal touch with bright colours.
For a bit of outdoor fun, we have Khil Khilana, a balloon game that will have you hopping and laughing!

Rajasthani Churma Ladoo
Ingredients:
• 1 cup whole wheat flour
• 2 tbsp ghee (for dough) + 2 tbsp (for greasing)
• 1/2 cup jaggery (or sugar)
• 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
• 1/2 tsp baking powder (optional)
• 2 tbsp chopped nuts (optional)
• Water as needed
Instructions:
1. Prepare Dough: Mix flour, baking powder, and a pinch of salt; add ghee and water to knead into stiff dough.
2. Shape Ladoos: Roll the dough into 1-inch balls.
3. Bake Method: Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F); bake ladoos for 15-18 minutes until golden brown.
4. Microwave Method: Grease a plate, microwave ladoos on high for 2-3 minutes until golden brown.
5. Prepare Churma: Crush the baked ladoos into pieces, mix with jaggery, cardamom powder, and nuts.
6. Shape Ladoos: Roll churma mixture into ladoos.
7. Cool and Serve: Let ladoos cool completely and store in an airtight container.
Lippan Art Craft
Materials:
• Air-dry clay (or dough made from flour and water)
• Cardboard or a wooden base
• Glue
• Mirror pieces (or foil paper cut into small squares)
• Acrylic paints (optional: bright colours like red, yellow, blue)
• A paintbrush
• Rolling pin (optional)
• Small sticks or tools for shaping designs
Steps:
1. Prepare the Base:
o Take a piece of cardboard or a small wooden board as the base for the craft.
2. Make the Clay Designs:
o Roll small amounts of air-dry clay into tiny balls and flatten them into small discs.
o Use a rolling pin to flatten the clay if needed. You can also create different shapes like spirals or circles.
3. Arrange the Clay on the Base:
o Arrange the clay pieces in a design, like a circular pattern, flowers, or simple lines. Leave space in between the clay pieces to add mirrors later.
4. Add Mirror Pieces:
o Glue small mirror pieces (or cut foil paper into small squares) in between the clay shapes to mimic the traditional mirror work.
5. Dry the Design:
o Allow the clay to dry completely (if using air-dry clay). This could take 1-2 hours, depending on the thickness.
6. Paint the Design (Optional):
o Once the design is dry, kids can paint the surrounding areas with bright colors to enhance the look.
7. Let It Dry:
o Let the entire piece dry completely before handling it.
Khil Khilana
Players:
• 2 or more players.
Materials:
• Balloons (lightweight).
Objective:
• Keep the balloon in the air using only the head or feet, without letting it touch the ground.
How to Play:
1. Inflate Balloon: Fill the balloon with medium air.
2. Rules:
o Only head or feet can be used.
o No hands allowed.
o If the balloon touches the ground, the player is out.
3. Winning: The last player/team who keeps the balloon in the air wins.
Variations:
• Team Play: Teams take turns keeping the balloon in the air.
• Time Limit: Set a time and count how long the balloon stays up.
Benefits:
• Improves coordination, balance, and teamwork.
• Great for physical activity and fun!
