Poro (Rice Pancakes) – A Traditional Breakfast Dish
Materials Needed:
1 cup rice flour
1/4 cup grated coconut
1/2 cup water
1 tbsp sugar (optional)
Ghee for frying
Steps:
1. In a mixing bowl, combine the rice flour, grated coconut, water, and sugar (if using). Stir well to make a thick batter.
2. Heat a little ghee in a non-stick pan. Pour a small ladle of batter onto the pan and spread it out gently into a circle.
3. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until the pancakes are golden brown.
4. Serve the Poro warm with a drizzle of ghee or honey on top!
Kokborok Painting
Materials Needed:
Paper (any size)
Colored markers, crayons, or paints
Pencil (for sketching)
Eraser
Black marker (for outlining)
Ruler (optional)
Steps:
1. Draw a large circle in the middle of your paper.
2. Inside the circle, draw smaller circles one inside the other to create a “spiral” effect. Each spiral should be slightly smaller than the last.
3. Add triangles around the circle, pointing outward.
4. Fill the space inside the spirals with different colours. You can alternate yellow, red, and green.
5. Outline the circles and triangles with a black marker for sharpness.
