Words of Wisdom: give up ego & pressure, built on relationships, 3Cs & beat comparison disease

Lights glittered in smiles of Free Press readers as His Grace Gaur Gopal Das came down from the stage at Labh Mandapam sharing his ‘Words of Wisdom’ and celebrating 40 years of Free Press in Indore. Enchanting the city with wisdom, charm, humility, love and embracing every reader with his connect, Das addressed the special gathering of our readers on Saturday evening.
He showered love through his words, gestures and expressed awe for Indoreans through local dialect as ‘Kaise ho bhiya!’
Das said, “This is my 4th time in Indore. 'Kaise bhaiya?' I have researched enough. Don't know why people call Mumbai the food capital... It has to change. Indore is the true food capital.”
Following are some key takeaways in the words of His Grace Gaur Gopal Das from the inspirational session:

Beware of the circle of time, give up ego!
It's extremely important to give up ego. When we say that we don't need anyone is the biggest ego. When we say, everyone needs me, it is the biggest illusion. It's very important to get down from the stage and connect. The stage is like success. One gets lonely there. The higher up you go, the lonelier you get. Because people connect with what you have and not who you are. People care about taking a selfie with you, not you. People come to me asking for a selfie quoting they are my devotees. They take a selfie and vanish. I wonder what happened to devotion!
All the young men want Jyoti, Archana... And they all want a selfie with me.
I have been doing this for 30 years. But suddenly, people are calling me. They don't want a picture with me or me in particular. They just want to have a good time.
Those who never messaged or said hello, are now calling me, look at the time changing... Even my neem tree bears mangoes now.

Built on relationships, they stay in good & bad times
Relationship stay. You must come down. Build strong relationships. They stay. Nothing else stays. Good or bad times.
Many people will come to you because of your time. Only a few will come to you because of you. Relationships stay with you forever. The ones who support you in good times are relationships, but the ones that are with you in bad times are blessings.

Don’t become a pressure cooker
Don't pressure yourself to be positive. It gives you stress.
Our feelings and emotions are true. We must learn to live with it. If you're bored, accept it, don't go browsing Instagram. Start learning to live with your emotions, don't force yourself to feel pepped up.
You're hurt, it's ok. If you're feeling sad, it's ok. Don't force yourself to feel positive or great.
When a bird shits on you, be grateful that elephants don't fly. It's good to think like that and be grateful, but you still must clean the bird's shit. Your positive mindset can compliment your journey, but won't solve your issues.
Take down small things in life: Don't take pressure in life, you're not a pressure cooker.

Appreciate yourself, don’t punish
Even small winnings and growth are good.
A child answers 9 x 8 equals 152. His father rewards him. The mother wonders why. The father explains that the child had given the answer as 192 yesterday. So, the child got closer to the answer and hence, deserved the award.
Have your self worth, appreciate yourself. Don't punish yourself for your mistakes. We are all human. We all make mistakes.

Story-time: add life to your life...
There was a king. The king was strolling with his minister. He saw a farmer, his wife and their 17-year-old kid. They were so energetic. We often live lifeless lives. We need to add life to life. We need to celebrate life. The family of farmers were singing and enjoying themselves. They had a small farm and tiny house. They were happy. You don't need much to be happy. To show, you are happy is tough. You can be happy with unbranded roadside tees, but to show happiness, you need to buy expensive branded clothes.
The family had a lot of life. You must also add life to yourself. Life will go anyway, so add life to your life before it's gone forever.

Disease of comparison
We always worry what people will think, we are doing whatever we don't like. We think that we should do what people want for now, but life is going back. Our hearts and life is passing away... We are dying so much everyday, even more than we have lived. .
Before you must leave, add life to your life. The farmer's family was living life to the fullest. The king saw this and wondered why he couldn't be this happy and why they are so happy. He asked the minister.
At a wedding, women look at each other's jewellery and men stare at each other's wife. Both comparing and feeling envy.
We have a disease of comparing our lives with each other. Don't know when and how we got this disease of looking at others. I don't say my parents are wrong, but the society was running as such that we compared with each other. Even today, we judge our success by comparing ourselves with others. This is a big mistake we made in life.

Water your own grass
What happens when we look at other people's life? We feel jealous. That's all we can feel. We should focus on our life and success.
I was going to London in economy class. Now I don't. Choose your career wisely, guys! In economy, I have taken 200 selfies. I have to stay for 8 hours extra to get business class from Indore.
The air hostess comes to me and says We guarantee take off. I asked about landing. she said.. You're a monk, so pray. The biggest win is to get an emergency exit seat. It has so much space that you can do yoga there. As it got late, I tried to recline, but I was told that there is no recliner. 15 mins on. I was about to sleep. Then there was gossip and talking. Because another thing close to the exit is the toilet. People love to chat! Then someone left the toilet door open. I had to use the restroom. Just as I got up, someone was stuck in there for 20 minutes. I decided to use business class. The air hostess stopped me. I waited again. When an economy person goes to business class, the air hostess tells you that you're not allowed. The business class looks at private jets. It's a disease of the mind. It never ends. All the good ends because we look at others. We should look at what we have.
The grass is not green on the other side of the mountain. The grass is green where you water. Water grass around you.
In Mahabharat, there are two characters: Karan and Arjun. Both wanted to be the greatest archer. Karan looked at Arjun and wanted to beat him. Arjun just worked on beating his previous goal.
Stop running and race with others, do it with yourself. Be Arjun, not Karan.
Don't worry about what the farmer has. Focus on what you have and take care of the grass that you have.

The 99 club
The minister answered to the king, "The farmer is happy because he is not a part of the 99 club."
The minister seeks 99 gold coins to explain what 99 club is. The minister kept the gold coins in front of the house of the farmer. The farmer found it at night. He checked and took it back home. He found gold coins. The farmer counted them and was happy. He counted again as it was 99.
The farmer got his wife and son to count the coins again and again. He was bugged that they were not 100 and why only 99.
Just like that, we have been given 99 blessings, but we focus on the one missing.

Don’t forget the 99.
No one is perfect. Everyone will have a flaw. There is always something lacking in everyone. There will always be one coin missing. We are always looking at the one missing. I am not saying don't take one. But don't forget the 99 because of one.
Story of Dhritarashtra. He had a power of 100 elephants, but he was blind. His focus was on his impairment and not his power. He spent his entire life focusing on impairment. Surdas didn't focus on his impairment. He focused on his music and lyrics.
Nobody's life will have a bag full of 100 coins. Everyone will miss out on at least one. Is it right to forget the 99 because of one missing one?
Revise: I am blessed.
How many of have had coriander stuck in your teeth?
Bhute ka kaes fibers stuck?
Where does your tongue go? We focus on that one tooth and not the other 31 ones. We are not amazed by the clean 31 ones. That's the nature of your tongue and mind. I am not saying that you must not remove it. You must, but celebrate the rest of your teeth too.

On a lighter note...
Teacher: Potatoes are Rs 30/kg and ship is sinking. How old am I?
Student : 32
Teacher: You're perfect. How did you know?
Student: My sister is 16 and half mad so you should be 32.

Before Pentecost, Christian community helps underprivileged families with ration

Prior to Pentecost, Christian community is following the lessons taught by Jesus Christ and helping those in need. In their drive to help underprivileged families, Christian volunteers forming a group are providing ration packets to them. Christian holiday of Pentecost, which is celebrated the 49th day (the seventh Sunday) after Easter Sunday, will be celebrated on May 31 this year. The holiday commemorates the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles and other followers of Jesus Christ. Under the drive, ration packets are given to 200 to 250 people on a regular basis. “Christ was the ultimate social worker. Not only could he find housing for people, or give them free food,” Ashutosh Joseph, a volunteer said. He cited that in the Bible, God's call to His followers to care for other human beings is clear (Philippians 2:4; 1 John 3:17-18; Proverbs 19:17 New International Version). “In fact, Jesus states that one of the most important commandments is ‘love your neighbour...
