Day 3 of Leopard family search: Leopards fled away?
Forest team armed up to locate the leopard family, rescue them from Infosys and TCS area on Thursday with drones and sniffer dogs, but to avail. Leopard family seemed out of sight and almost vanished into thin air. There were no pugmarks or residues found inside or around the campus of IT companies at Super Corridor.
Further, information about presence and sighting of leopard was initimated to forest department from Nainod area.
Indore Forest Division DFO Mahendra Singh Solanki headed to Nainod and launched another search operation in that area as well. Though using drones and sniffer dogs, both the areas were searched, leopards seemed out of sight. “We could not even find any pugmarks in the areas, so it’s hard to trace the movement of leopard family,” Solanki said.
Night vision cameras and cages have been installed in Infosys campus. Forest department is educating people and emphasizing on being cautious of the new leopard mom.
What’s Next?
“We tried all day to find traces of leopard, but no avail. However, the search will continue and we will try to find the leopards using thermal drones tomorrow,” Solanki said.
First sighted… and developments
After detecting the movement of leopard in Infosys, the forest department had installed a cage in the campus on Tuesday night. Besides, night vision cameras were also installed to capture the leopard. Before starting the search operation on Wednesday morning, the Forest Department learned the location of the cage, but no animal was captured there. After this, at ten in the morning, information was received about the sighting of two cubs from Tigriya Badshah village.
Rescue team and Indore range team immediately reached the spot. Villagers Mohan and Jeevan Jat said that two cubs were seen in the field at 8 in the morning and the leopard was walking ahead. After this the forest workers searched the fields. Claw marks were found at different places.

In their drive to help underprivileged families, Christian volunteers forming a group are providing ration packets to them.
