Thousands of tourists visiting Ralamandal Sanctuary in hope to see dinosaur eggs and fossils of extinct sea creatures return disappointed over the weekend as the fossil park remains closed again. The fossil park remains closed as the historical literature (content) related to them is still incomplete. This has been the case for over six months and yet, it might take more months just to complete the literature. This delay is attributed to a private college professor, who is supposed to provide the required information and content to forest department. To provide accurate information and more details about fossils to the tourists, the forest department assigned the task of improving the literature to a college professor. But even after six months, the literature on fossil history is incomplete. Hence, the department continues to postpone the inauguration of the fossil park. Indore’s students made it in the state toppers list especially in commerce group in Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (MPBSE) Class 12 Results. The result was declared on Thursday at noon. Indore division immersed in the celebratory fervour as many as eight students from the division made the State’s Topper’s List. Surprisingly, perhaps for the first time or in a very long time, a boy has excelled in the state merit’s list. Mrudul Pal, born in a humble family, aced the state by scoring 494 marks out of 500, i.e. 98.8 per cent. Neck to neck competition, Mrudul had competition from a girl from the same school, same district and similar marks. Sharma inspired by her cousin (Himani Sharma) will be next UPSC officer from her family in the generation. “This was my third attempt at UPSC, but I was determined to make it,” she said. Born in the family of government officials, it isn’t unusual for her to have chosen this path. “I completed my graduation from City University of New York, and then decided to follow the path to becoming UPSC officer,” Sharma said. She added that her cousin was her role-model and helped her ace the exam. “I did not attend any coaching institute, but took some mock tests to check my preparation,” Sharma said. As some questions were pointed out to be ‘wrong’, the state board will award four marks in various subjects. As approved, students can expect extra four marks in Sanskrit, Physics and Mathematics. In the mistake found in Hindi, one mark will be allotted to the students. Now, the question is… when do you get to see the full result? Most likely on the coming Thursday. Smuggling gangs active in Indore circle, 3 arrested, more to come… Indore team of the State Tiger Strike Force (STSF) arrested three accused involved in smuggling rare species of parakeets and wild parrots on Sunday. In the interrogation, smugglers confessed to have been catching the protected parrots from the forest and selling them. The gang is spread across the state, which used to send parrots to Uttar Pradesh-Maharashtra besides Madhya Pradesh. Buses and small vehicles were used to smuggle. We used to send 100 to 150 parrots at a time. They were sold in the market for 500 to 1,000 rupees. According to the STSF, the gang is involved in smuggling and selling the gang, in which 50 to 80 people are suspected to be involved. After getting information from the informer, the STSF formed a team to nab the smugglers, in which the forest personnel met the smugglers to buy parrots.
