Only 47% applications for 2.84 Lakh RTE seats in MP Burden of unfilled seats to pass to parents with fee hike Less than 50 per cent seats reserved under Right to Education (RTE) Act have any applicants, leaving 52.8 per cent seats empty even if all the applicants are allotted a seat. This is the scenario for 2023, wherein thousands of schools across the state will suffer the consequences. This gap of 52.8 per cent puts an extra burden on private schools, which transfers to parents with fee hikes and extra charges. More than 1.5 lakh seats will remain vacant in private schools, which could have been easily filled under normal admission process as schools claim. This year, RTE application process received 1,34,851 applicants for admissions in unaided private schools in the state for academic session 2023-24. Aayaam 2023, the techno-cultural fest of SGSITS, witnessed many games including Robotic war and Art-Holic on the first day.  The fest commenced with an address by director Dr Rakesh Saxena and chief guest Amit Tomar, MD, MPPKVVCL, and an alumnus of the college. Kurukshetra by SRC club began the day with ‘Dwand’ which was a Robotic war. Art A Holic by Club Pratibimb which saw participation of many students making beautiful face paintings . Avrodh by NCC had an obstacle course competition. Mr. and Ms. Aayaam by Club Ojaswa also saw it beginning with the round "Task it Up", wherein the participants had to perform various tasks in a given time frame. Many games were conducted during Electromania by CEE namely Crossword , climb the curve, rowdy rows, guilty cricket , crazy currents which had amazing fusion of science with games . They were addressing the gathering of representatives from MP online kiosks, Public Service Centres, Common Service Centres and other kiosks in the city at Ravindra Natyagrah in Indore on Wednesday.

Commissioner Pratibha Pal and Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargav urged women to update their e-KYC to take benefit of ‘Mukhyamantri Ladli Bahna Yojana’, announced a pre-camp for assistance and quoted how the scheme will empower women in the state. They were addressing the gathering of representatives from MP online kiosks, Public Service Centres, Common Service Centres and other kiosks in the city at Ravindra Natyagrah in Indore on Wednesday. Pal said, “To ensure maximum eligible women beneficiaries of Mukhyamantri Ladli Bahna Yojana get benefits, a pre-camp would be organised in all the ward areas of the city.” In his address, Mitra said, “The city, state and country will be empowered only by women empowerment.” He added that Yojana has been launched by Shivraj Singh Chouhan for the empowerment of women in the state coming from humble backgrounds.” He added that women must be empowered, made self-reliant to ensure that city, state and country is truly empowered.

More than 600 electricity connections are shut down due to non-payment of bills and non-clearance of bills after several warnings West Discom (M.P. Pashchim Kshetra Vidyut Vitaran Co. City Superintending Engineer Manoj Sharma said, “Action was taken against defaulters at two hundred places as we have arrears to clear and it is the last month of the financial year.” He added that a shop in Navlakha had an electricity bill arrear of three and a half lakhs. “March, the last month of the ongoing financial year, is very important for every commercial institution to collect revenue, in such a situation, all the arrears should be cleared by consumers to ensure continuity of services,” Sharma said. Celebrating International Year of Millets (IYOM), as announced by the United Nations, the Board has instructed its affiliated schools to conduct various activities. As per records, ‘Millets’ were among the first crops to be domesticated in India with several evidence of its consumption during the Indus valley civilization. Hence, the Board has urged schools to educate students about the same.
