Better than industry, Students Innovate solutions & Make better Mi-Fi
Changing the way we do things and bringing innovation to every home, a 15-year-old student has made Mi-Fi at home. Making it affordable for everyone, his innovation and design and brought down the cost of Mi-Fi by 50 per cent.
Meet Ishit Jain, a student of Class 11 at Colonel’s Academy, whose innovation is ready to help schools and students. He used simple device structures and even un-used parts to make the device.
“I have my prototype ready and working, which works well providing excellent range and speed,” Ishit said. Furthermore, he has countered basic functional issues in usual Mi-Fi sold in the market.
Mi-Fi is a short name for a pocket WiFi. It is a portable wireless modem, mobile hotspot, or internet dongle that connects any Wi-Fi enabled device (smartphones, laptops, and tablets) to the internet through a mobile telephone network.
“A common problem that we face with usual Mi-Fi is that we need to carry wire additionally and they often tangle,” Ishit said. To slash down that problem, he modified the design and made it easier for the users.

Ease of use, simplified with special feature!
“Though there are a few commercial pocket wifi already in market, they are not very convenient to use,” Ishit said. He explained to use the usual Mi-Fi, one has to carry an entire kit.
“You have to at least carry data cable, dongal, a sim and charger,” Ishit said. However, in the Mi-Fi made by him, things are little more convenient.
“The Mi-Fi is slim, easy to carry as everything is inbuilt,” Ishit said. He added that only a normal data cable can connect the Mi-Fi to your system.
Adding another special feature, Ishit has created the design such that the data cable which is connected with the device also charges it even at the time of use.
