If I were an animal... by Vea Daswani

If I were an animal... If I were a whale I would trace the depth of sea, Beneath the water the world would be all about me. If I were a sparrow I would live in the sky Towards the sun I would trip and fly . If I were an elephant I would range the moutains , Moving in sunflash through lakes and plains . If I were a lion I would head the forest Keeping the tales of survival on my chest . But all I'm is a man Who no longer knows the nature well, Who hunts animals so that he could sell. The whales find plastic in sea. The sparrows in the cage cannot flee. The elephants lie on the paths dry. The lions cannot stay under the free sky. We question our existance , we question our courtesy As if we don't know if staying in cage is easy... Vea Daswani Class 11th ‘E’ Choithram School North Campus, Indore

Tanishk Baranwal writes about Feathered Friends

Feathered Friends They’re hopping lots. They’re in the air. They’re eating grubs without a care. They’re singing songs. They’re kicking leaves. They’re on the ground, and up in trees. They’re on the feeder. They’re in the bath. They’re rummaging through the cabbage patch. They’re soaring high. They’re swooping down. They’re on telephone wires all over town. They’re laying eggs. They’re building nests. They’re controlling all our bugs and pests. They’re heading South. They’re heading North. They’re in flocks migrating back and forth. I’m having fun that never ends, out here with my feathered friends! Tanishk Baranwal Class 10th 'B' Daisy Dales Senior Secondary School, Indore

The Tale Of A Revolution A tribute to the French Revolution by Sharmista Banerjee

The Tale Of A Revolution A tribute to the French Revolution. From afar, France was a fancy and opulent country brimming with beauty. But what missed everybody’s eyes was the bloodshed on the streets. And the tyranny of the king, but to him, it was his right and duty. And above all, he based all that power on Divine Right, how sweet. The country of France was slashed into three, The First, the Second and the Third Estate. Now the First and Second, the Clergy and Nobility, were the arrogant and egocentric breed, Brimming with ego, supported by every ‘birth’ right, but free from the taxes which could cause them to bate. But these two Estates only populated 2% of the country, While the Third Estate, consisting of craftsmen, laborers, lawyers, merchants and peasants, Filled up an entire 98% of the country! Above all that, taxes on them were omnipresent! In fact, they were the providers of the two Estates before them! But every community has it’s breaking point, A limit that’s better left u...

Mishti Methi writes Live life king-size

Drenching through the moon's light; Soaking the sun when it was all bright... Ignoring the siesta and reading one more page; Sunset dancing on my terrace like it is its stage. Remembering how much I was lively; Indeed arouses hell lot of jealousy. I don't remember any stress, tension or tears; From my life's last fifteen years. As it is memories that make u laugh when you cry and cry when you laugh; Man you made through the other sperms about a million and a half. Though funny it may seem; But let’s put ourselves on redeem. Jab the worries off with a sharp knife; ‘Cause you are on the greatest show of the earth that is your life! Mishti Methi Class 10th Colonels Academy, Mhow

His little paws... by Lavanya Pania

His little paws... When I was at my lowest his furry little paws entered my life and took all the trauma away for a while When I felt there was no reason to be contented his little paws gave me million reasons to smile When I was scared to sleep at night, his little paws gave me comfort and made me feel guarded the whole night When I felt defeated by life his little paws gave me the courage to fight When I felt that the cold air of loneliness is surrounding me his little paws gave me warmth His little paws have accompanied me in every up and down and in return all it wanted was adoration His little paws have taught me the gift of giving, comforting and have become my inspiration. Save Earth by Annika Sabharwal Class 1st Hill Spring School

Save Earth Let’s save our Earth in many ways we can, Let’s think of things to put a ban, Let’s plant lots of trees, To keep our city green. Don’t waste any water, Or we won’t have it later. Let’s segregate our waste, And not throw it in a haste. Don’t litter our streets, Or we will get disease. Don’t pollute the Seas, Or we will have dead reefs. It’s time to wake up and take care of our planet. So you see, It’s up to you and me. Annika Sabharwal Class 1st Hill Spring School

Amaya Chopra writes Animals- the parcel of God

Animals- the parcel of God Animals have been companions to man since time immemorial. To maintain a healthy ecological balance on this land animal, plants and marine species are as important as humans but unfortunately many birds and animals are endangered today. To some people, the suggestion of rights for animals might sound too petty to be considered an issue worth pondering over. Yes, animals too have rights. And this needs to be realized especially in the light of the fact that human existence is a part and parcel of nature, which is the ultimate controlling force. Humans may have gained independence to support themselves but ecology still demands a harmonious relation between the animal kingdom and human existence to sustain its balance. Just as humans, animals too have the right to a free existence, right not to be killed, right to natural habitat and right to be protected against extinction. Unfortunately, all these rights have been grossly violated by humans. The extinction ...

THE FEARLESS ANIMAL To see myself as an animal, would be as powerful as being immortal. The animal of my dream is panther With a fur coat of black with him. The chance to be the same, would not be less than fame. The strength of me would be on it's peak, everything in me would be so unique. Fast as flashing light, everything seems so bright. Symbolizing courage, this is the perfect image. Life in the dense tropical rainforest, Running through long distance without any rest. An extended tree as my home, the fearless animal ever known. Belonging to the kingdom animalia, mostly found in Southeast Asia. But they are going extinct now, we will not find then anymore around. The True Royal with traits of a true King: Tiger by Kukuk Jain

The True Royal with traits of a true King: Tiger The Earth is not just our home planet, but the home to many animals. Since the beginning of time, animals have inhabited the plant, serving as a friend and foe to humans. Any glimpse into the life of an animal quickens our own and makes it so much the larger and better in every way. Every animal is unique and has his own special trait, colour, size and characteristics. The Asian Lion is found in the jungles of the eastern regions. It is a huge and mighty creature with brownish hide. His roar is enough to terrorise a person to death. The Bengal Tiger is a noble and impressive wild animal. He has yellowish hide and black stripes all over it. The Leopard has dark spots all over his body. He is very agile. The moment he sees his prey, he pounces upon it without showing any mercy. The bear is known by his strong and tight hug. It becomes rather difficult for a novice to distinguish among wild animals. If I could be any animal, I would be a Ti...

Fast, cute and fruit loving animals hoping from one tree to another – Monkeys by Harsh Jain

Fast, cute and fruit loving animals hoping from one tree to another – Monkeys If I could be an animal, I would be a monkey, because my pet name is monkey and my favourite animal from Chhota Bheem is Jaggu. Monkey is the cutest animal they love to eat fruits, vegetables, leaves, insects, etc.… They live together and create a society. Monkeys can go to this tree to the other tree which they enjoy moving here and there. They also hang on trees. They also love to have races amongst themselves. The monkeys can do the same work like they copy the things humans do that’s why we call ten “Nakalchi Bandar”. But they don’t hurt anyone. There are many kinds of their species like Gorilla’s, Champigny’s, etc.… No one harms them as they are a part of human kind as said by ancients. That’s why I love them the most thus they are my favourite creature in this Earth. Harsh Jain Class 5th St. Paul Higher Secondary School, Indore
