My Mother- My Goddess
My mother is my lifeline. People generally say that heaven lies in mother’s feet. But I feel so that mother herself is a godly being. God couldn’t be everywhere so he created mother, but even God can’t take the place of a mother in a child’s life. I feel that my mother is a goddess.
A combined form of many of them… She’s Lakshmi, provides me with everything I need and want. She’s Saraswathi, imparts good knowledge in me.
Annapurna as she satisfies my hunger by tasty food. She’s Skanda Mata and Parvati, gives me love and good upbringing. She’s Siddhidatri, teaches me all kins of arts. She’s kali, destroys all my mistakes and guides me on right path.
She’s Chandi, protects me from all threats of my life. She’s Adi Shakti- the source of all power and confidence in me. Earlier when I heard the stories of goddess Durga, I got confused that how could anyone fight with ten hands simultaneously. But as I grew up, I understood. Our mother in our house is a form of Devi Durga.
With ten hands, she manages the whole house. To my father’s office bag to my tiffin box, from cleaning the house to giving grandpa medicines. From doing her office work to playing and guiding me, my mother plays all roles, of a wife, mother, daughter, daughter-in-law, sister, householder, my guide, best friend,, the director of her company, etc. very well.
Like Mata rani wants just love and nothing else from us, our mother too just needs our love and understanding. I have never seen my mother buying even a gold ornament for her. For her, family matters the most. My mother left her job of management professor so that she can focus on me. She’s filled with the great quality of sacrifice, for her child, her family. She’s the best mother in the world.
A goddess for me! Just think, God has all the things in his abode then why he comes to earth as his incarnations? To experience the love of mother, as ram in lap of Kausalya, as Krishna, running away from Yashoda. The love of mother is unmatchable.
No one can take her place in my life. So, we should also give the love and respect to our mother which we give to mother goddess. Love you Mumma! Just wanna dedicate these lines to you-
You beautified my life which was a total mess,
You are my guide, best friend, & my goddess.
