DC Students compete with ODA in Sports Week, sportsmanship lessons learned
Daly College organised Sports Week filled with essential sports compeititon to ensure fitness of participants and development of sportsmanship.
The participants were former students of the school, i.e. alumni and current students of the school.
On the last day of the competition, a fun game of hockey was played between the alumni and the existing students under Banera Cup.
Both the teams performed their best and inspired audience to give their best performance in sports. After nail-biting competition between the two teams, the current students’ team of DC took the cup.
The team won the match by 3-2. From winning team, Gaurav Singh, Pratham Kohli and Safal Samaiah scored 1-1 goals. Gurkeerat Hora and Ankit Satya scored 1-1 goals from alumni.
Basketball matches were also played among the teams. Boys Basketball was extremely exciting and the alumni team won the tournament 45-23. The girls' basketball match was one sided. It was won by the current students' team 45-5.
This time the football and shooting competitions were won by the present dalians, while the tennis and squash competitions were won by the old dalians.
Maharaj Narendra Singh Jhabua, President of Daly College Board was the chief guest at the prize distribution ceremony.
Kamlesh Kasliwal, president of Old Dalians Association (ODA) welcomed the chief guest. The chief guest presented the prizes to the players.
In his speech, Kasliwal narrated many reminiscences about the state of excellence in this competition and DC sports. “I have been coming here on many occasions for so many years but even today I feel very excited and happy to come and attend this competition,” he said.
Kasliwal added that hockey, tennis and football are essential sports in the school for students’ development.
School principal Neeraj Kumar Bedhotiya in his brief remarks congratulated all the players. He also congratulated the coaches of the game.
Secretary Tejveer Juneja, on behalf of ODA, gave vote of thanks. Jhanvi Tiwari conducted the prize distribution ceremony and on behalf of the school and vote of thanks given by Aadhar Jahnavi Tiwari.
Sports secretary of ODA Mayur Singh Jhabua and member Madhav Dhabhai coordinated and led the event.
