Madhya Pradesh: Private schools hike school fee, remove students from online classes to pressure parents
No clear order on fee charged as schooling continues through online classes have been issued by the government and the school education department during this academic session and lockdown for corona second wave.
Hence, private schools are demanding full fees for the whole year. Parents are worried and stressed due to this.
Online classes of private schools were started from June 15, but the school management has removed children from the online class, whose parents have not deposited the fees.
Because of this children are not able to study. However, in this session also, the chances of opening schools from class I to VIII are slim.
At the same time, some private schools have increased the fees by 10 to 20 percent from this academic session. Now the parents are being pressurized to deposit the fees, when the parents are already troubled by the financial crisis during the corona period.
In the last session, the government had ordered to pay only the tuition fee. At the same time, due to no clear order being issued in this session, the school administration is charging tuition fee as well as annual charge, enrolment fee, computer fee and sports fee.
Names of various private schools have been mentioned for doing the same.
The parent association has written a letter to Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan demanding that private schools should not increase the fees and charge only tuition fees.
The parent association has written that this year also the government should issue orders to the schools to charge only the tuition fee.
There is still a very little chance that offline schools will open for students studying in classes 1 to 8th. Even if it opens, it is not possible to operate the school with all the facilities, so the government should issue an order related to fees for this session as well. A fee committee has been formed to stop the fee hike, but its rules should be implemented, demanded the association.
