Considering covid-19 spread and risk involved in gatherings, instructions have been given by the Government of India to celebrate International Yoga Day by practicing yoga in their respective homes.
This year on International Day of Yoga "Be with yoga, Be at home" with the theme "Be with yoga, Be at home" will join the officers/employees of all AYUSH institutions on 21st June 2021 from 6.30 am to 7.45 am to perform yoga with the theme.
Keeping in view the importance of Yoga, the General Assembly of the United Nations passed a resolution on 11th December 2014 that every year 21 June is to be celebrated as Yoga Day. Since then, International Yoga Day is organized every year in India as well as all over the world on 21st June by practicing yoga according to the prescribed protocol. This year the seventh International Yoga Day will be celebrated on 21st June 2021.
District AYUSH Officer Dr. Himmat Singh Dabur said that like last year 2020, it is not possible to organize mass programs in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Kaman Yoga Protocol has been prescribed by the Government of India for this purpose. On the basis of this protocol, on the occasion of International Yoga Day, an appeal was floated among yoga groups in Indore and public to practise yoga but remember to stay at home. Further, the appeal asked yoga practitioners to motivate isolated patients and people recently recovered from the infection to built lung strength with pranayama.
