Gift ideas for Father's Day: How to make your daddy feel special with personalised and customized presents made at home?

It’s that time of the year when little girls look up to the first man who always treats them like a princess and little boys find their true role-model, guide and coach for life. Yes! It’s time to celebrate Father’s Day on this Sunday.

While the market is open, supply has been slow and in order to touch the heart of the first man of every child’s life, this year, the trend is bound to change. It’s time to make the extraordinary at home ensuring safety and special personalised touch for your daddy.

To help our readers prepare something unique and special for their father, we have collected some unique DIY (Do-It-Yourself) ideas:

Go Paperless & Design your Mark

Digital revolution has already taken over our lives and post pandemic, it’s become the new way of life in the virtual world. While there are countless advantages and disadvantages of the same, we can actually utilise it to touch a father’s heart.

With several free online designing software, platform and apps, it is not a challenging task to pick up photos and create a lovely video with father’s day playing in background. This is a surprise for fathers and a good way to relive our memories, said designer Saad Khan.

For those whose father is not into digital world, a beautiful collage can be prepared on a sheet of paper and cut outs.

Pen is mightier than the sword

Penning down a few loving words has a much higher impact on fathers than one can imagine. Even if you don’t have your way with words, you can still write your feelings in simple words.

It is not a bad idea to pick up a song or poem that is written by someone else, but depicts your emotions aptly.

“Letters from my parents are my most treasured possessions till date and one cannot deny the feel, strength and courage I still gather from those words,” Padma Shri Janak McGilligan Palta said.

The tummy route

A delicious meal prepared by his children is bound to be special even if not perfect. It is a good idea to prepare your dad’s favourite meals on this Father’s Day. If you are not sure what to prepare, even a simple daily recipe like moonglets might do the trick.

Just remember to present it with a special father’s day touch. “We can add personal touch with a note, a song or even a sweet dish by side,” said Asha Agrawal, a chef.

Paint, Create and Personalise

From painting a stone to a glass jar, everything in your home can easily be personalised with acrylic, glass and other colours. Pick up your brushes and personalise it with abstract designs if you don’t have the artistic flair.

It is also a good idea to add sparkles and notes into a jar or pen stand, which your father can use for daily office work, suggested craft designer Anju K.
