SGSITS learns lesson to go green from coronavirus

Coronavirus and lockdown enforcement for controlling its outspread has taught an important lesson of living in sync with environment. Learning this lesson, Shri Govindram Seksaria Institute of Technology and Science (SGSITS) is now taking steps towards making sustainable campus more rigorously. 

“We are moving towards Adarsh campus and Zero Vaster campus for which work is in progress with the cooperation of Indore and various environmental consultants,” Dr Rakesh Saxena, SGSITS director, said. The institute has been working on various green technologies.

“The vegetable and mess waste coming out of canteen and mess is done by automatic composting machine installed in the institute,” Saxena said.

“We are installing LED lights / solar lights in the campus, making compost, going paperless as far as possible, but we still need to work upon water harvesting system,” Saxena said. He added that research work is in progress and we are consulting various experts for establishment of rain water harvesting system.

“We are hoping to install and work on a proper plan of rain water harvesting by the end of next month,” Saxena said.

Before Pentecost, Christian community helps underprivileged families with ration

Prior to Pentecost, Christian community is following the lessons taught by Jesus Christ and helping those in need. In their drive to help underprivileged families, Christian volunteers forming a group are providing ration packets to them. Christian holiday of Pentecost, which is celebrated the 49th day (the seventh Sunday) after Easter Sunday, will be celebrated on May 31 this year. The holiday commemorates the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles and other followers of Jesus Christ. What are the precautions for prevention of corona virus? Special instructions for School Students

School Education Department issued an advisory to all the school heads and officers regarding precautions to be taken against the deadly novel coronavirus to prevent the spread of infection among school children. The advisory was sent out at the direction of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India with a photocopy of the letter attached.
