Prestige Institute of Management and Research Institute organized International Webinar on Importance of Media Literacy

Prestige media literacy club of Prestige Institute of Management and Research is organising an International webinar on the importance of media literacy in the age of information on 30 th July, 6.30 pm. Aim of this webinar is to sensitize citizens and parents to be media literate so that they can play the role of active citizen and responsible parents. Media literate responsible parents can better decode media messages; they can have a check on their kid’s media diet consumption especially of digital media diet and can also save them from being victim of fake news and false propaganda. Media literate citizens can understand very well what is propaganda and how false propaganda is propagated, what is fake narratives and how to get rid of it. Keynote speaker is Mr. Frank W Baker who is  media literacy education consultant in USA. Mr. Baker has been very active in promoting media literacy for more than twenty years. His four books from renowned
publications have been published focusing on various aspects of media literacy. Session will be chaired by Professor Dr. KV Nagaraj who is a senior media educationist and being into media education for more than 45 years. He is the one who initiated media literacy in India and also
promoting his scholars to work in this area, which is unexplored. Professor Dr. Anubhuti Yadav,Head of Department of New Media, IIMC, New Delhi will be sharing what initiative are being taken regarding media literacy in India. Session will be moderated by Professor Bhavna Pathak who is coordinator of Prestige Media Literacy Club. Welcome address will be given by Dr. R. K.

Mass Communication Department of Prestige Institute is going to introduce Media and Information Literacy and Visual and Digital Literacy in their curriculum. Jharneshwar Mahadev in Madhya Pradesh: a nature escape from urban jungle
